Well, first... Everyone's hair naturally locks. Have you ever had to brush knots out of your hair? I don't know if you've had long hair for a while before. If left alone, those knots would form into locks.
Nothing needs to be done to them.
That soap doesn't sound terrible. It does sound a bit too conditioning, though. Check with Eagle or Heather. They be able to tell you better than I could.
But definitely, crocheting will damage your hair. If you don't go back for touch-up's you'll be fine
Welcome. But crocheting is the absolute most damaging thing that can be done to locks. All it does is shreds your hair into smaller and smaller pieces, which makes them weaker and weaker. It also delays progress by up to 6 months for each session.
If you only did it once, to start, it's not as bad, but will delay progress. If you are using it for maintenance, it can make locks snap off in places, and even at the scalp leaving a bald spot. You should never see your scalp in between your sections. That's a sign of baldness showing up.
What soap are you using? Many lock soaps are actually really bad for locks

welcomde but crochets horribly destructive and whats lockup?
Welcome and Happy Dreading..
welcome if by knotting you mean crocheting thats incredibly bad for dreads
Welcome. What do you mean "knotting"? Are you tying knots in your hair? That actually weakens your locks and causes thin/weak spots to form.
Or are you interlocking or crocheting? Both methods cause weak locks that won't last a lifetime
