My supposed journey, crushed of course i don't blame you all but its over ive had my hair twisted and ripped and twisted again ive got to salons bought expensive products and nothing. Ive fallowed instructions ive gone through long periods without washing and when my hair got try and flakey i tryed to oil my haid and they fell apart. And when i take showers my hair falls apart. It dosent "lock up" it wont stay and im tired of trying. And theres only so much a person can take, so im done, barber shop here i come.

I'm sorry to hear that. But I'm more sorry because, like Ixchel said, it sounds like you had some horrendous advice and instructions. Salons are notorious for destroying locks. They just aren't taught how to grow locks in beauty school. So the info they use and give you is from what they pick up on there own, and what they think they can profit from.

There is never a time, or period of time you shouldn't wash. You should wash more often when they are babies. Getting them wet helps them form. Dirty hair retains oils and dirt, which prevent locking.

There is a period of time when they do fall apart. That's only natural. Some of us take long. It took me about a year to see any progress. Ixchel didn't see progress for about 8 months. HOw long were you trying for?

whose instructions had you been following? it sounds like you had some bad advice, you don't need to redo tnr, you don't need to retwist, you shouldn't go to salons, you don't need expensive products (baking soda & apple cider vinegar are cheap), you SHOULD wash them & often. When you shower they may fall apart, but good things take time. Leave them alone, if you do a starting method do it once then leave them be, wash them & let them go. All hair will lock given the right circumstances & enough time.
