they ere doing so great before you made the crochet mistake!
luckily you didn't do it too extremely tight but THROW THE HOOK IN THE TRASH!!
no, 1st, hire a voodoo dr to curse it, then, defecate on it, then brn it, then bury whats left
whatever it takes to eliminate any temptation to ever do that again
lets see how long recovery takes..i don;'t think it will take years
don't! don't ever let anyone work on your dreads! what was done? if crochet it was a terible mistake that you can pay for for years!
i hope you didn;t make too big of a mistake..but don't ever work on them again especialy don't let anyone else work on them.
no matter what it was that was done you only set back progress a great deal
mines always been mega thick too
not so curly
so umm why would you do that to your hair when all your life it was so damn hard to prevent it from dreading. the fact you couldnt brush it meant it was tryng to dread in a single day. you would have had a great start on dreading in just 2 weeks, well, if it was an inch longer it would make a diference but maybe not a hge 1 since yours wanted to knot up so bad
id even consider starting over naturally ... read up all u can on here cause a great many started theirs over even after years just cause they felt it wasn't right to start any other way and they regretted starting other ways enough to start over even after a few years.
after a few weeks would be a better time to figure out if thas what you want to do
however without actually seeing the pre dread i cant be certain that you wont need 1 more inch or couple months growth before it would dread naturally
it seems like from your description it woul dread naturally at 1/2 the normal length
it seems it was trying hard to dread and you fought back hard to prevent it
all hair types dread without problems yours loks like it would dread easily by just not combing ..what did it look like before dreading?
your lucky they did the looser ones dread faster the ones that fell apart may race ahead
broke like fell apart thats fine they would have dreaded if u did nothing but 1 more inch would make a big difference wash 1-3 times a week as you feel you need no les then weekly if u get the dreadlockshampoo.com liquid they will lock up way faster
seen the pics they look way better now that the crochet loosened up
