eLpea, that updo is easy! heres a tutorial for one pretty similar, since your locks are long there shouldnt be a problem, idk that this guy has a hairtie on his or not but idk how he wouldnt unless his dreads are REALLY long, it would be hard to make em stay nice and smoothly twisted like that, unless like i said, his dreads are real long and takes the time to tie and tuck em all in....heres that tutorial..
Heather, her link is in the word "like this?' if you click on those words from eLPea's comment you will see what shes talking about. thats why its underlined
hon...I just looked through your pics....your dreads are WAY longer then mine! And supa gorgeous!
something like.....hmmmm, did you try to post a link? I can't get ALL my dreads into a pony tail so I doubt I can get them all up together with twisting....they're fairly short.
yep, that's why i couldn't leave mine in overnight! exactly like a too-tight ponytail.have you ever been able to put up your whole head 'o dreads with just twisting? something like this ?I think our locks are quite similar, and i havent been able to quite master this style yet so i was wondering if you have any secrets to an elastic-less updo.
Actually to be real honest, I wouldn't do it again. It was fun to do and kinda cool lookin, but it was slightly painful. Just the kind of pain like when you put your hair into a tight pony tail. I did not feel as tho' I did any damage. There wasn't any ripping at all. It was slightly difficult to undo, but there wasn't any damage created. I hope it didn't actually weaken anything as I've seen posted as a possibility. But I wouldn't necessarily try to tell anybody "aaaaahhhhhhh!!!! NO!!!! Don't do it!!!!" It was a fun experiment. :D
Looks rad!! I like your one dinky dread on the side - i've got a few of those my self.Just curious, as there seems to be a lot of negative reactions to the twisting of locks from many people on this site: did you feel like you were putting strain on your roots or caused any damage? What happened when you untwisted - did you notice any damage? Did your locks change shape?
