good but crochet once only and although the damage wont destroy them it is extrenme and the extreme tighteness delays progress by 6 months so throw that hook away and never use it again

Cheers for the advice guys. I had my dreads done by a friend using the twist and rip method. Since then I haven't done that much crochet or palm rolling to them.

welcome but babas right crochet is the oposite i]=of how you dread for spiritual reasons its pure destruction for the sake of pure vanity its a horible abuse to dreads natural is not only the healthy way but far more spiritual if u just went to the fest withouit a comb it would have dreaded by the time u went home

Welcome. But if you want the full spiritual experience of locks, you might want to let them grow naturally. Crocheting is the most destructive thing that can be done to locks. It rips your hairs into smaller and smaller pieces. This weakens your locks to the point that they can snap in places and even fall out at the roots.

Palm rolling is also extremely damaging if it does anything at all. If you don't do it much it doesn't create lasting knots. If you do it a lot, it ruins your roots. There really isn't a middle ground

Welcome. It's good that you decided to stop crocheting. It does absolutely nothing to help you lock. It only hurts them
