Welcome. But palm rolling only does 1 of 2 things. If you don't do it much, it won't create any lasting knots. If you do it enough to see lasting knots, you are destroying your locks. It thins out the roots and can make them fall out in time. Check out my video to see what only 2 weeks of palm rolling can do. 6 years later, I am still trying to fix the damage

Saw on chat that you were wondering if dreads get heavy as they get longer. As they grow, your head adjusts to the weight, just the same as if you have straight long hair. But it is another story when they are wet as they hold in plenty of water just after washing. A member on this site posted a video how to wash them and what he does, his were 13 years old in that video. http://www.dreadlockssite.com/video/how-to-wash-very-long-dreadlocks

Now, if you put your long dreads up on top of your head in a style, you would feel the weight of them, but again, your head adjusts as they grow. How long is long for you and your question? Ask Taye, hers are long, Prinenoobsauce, his are longer, and then we have the great Soaring Eagle, his are the longest.....ask them how theirs feel.

If you find the weight too much over the years, you can always....egad....cut them shorter! .....peace

here is another tip to help with the towel lint, besides using a towel the same color, get a good quality one, they loose less lint. So here is the other: use a micro fiber towel like a Shamwow, does not have to be that brand, there a less costly ones out there, anyways, right after your shower, gently pat your dreads with this and it sucks out sooo much water and never ever leaves lint. Then all you need to do is put a towel on your shoulders and do whatever, no dreads dripping! The micro towel lasts forever, had mine for a year and it looks like new.....peace

Ratio for BS wash: 1/2 cup to 5 cups water....or 1/4 cup to 2 1/2 cups water

Proper ratio for ACV rinse: 1-2 capfuls with 5 cups water....or 1 capful to 1/4 cup water

2-7 capfuls mixed with once glass of water will over-condition the dreadlocks

Have a great day.....peace

Oh yeah, do you think those black and blue spots on the tip of your dreads is towel lint?

Hi Dreadlover, saw you comment on chat about the loose hairs at the sides. You are only 7 months into your journey, they will eventually dread, or join others around it. I have loose hairs there also, but that is an oily area for me, so any knots that form slip out, i tried T&R with them, but again, they slip out. I would not worry if I were you, they will dread in time. ...peace
