Welcome. Normal shampoo leaves residue which will weigh down your locks and can cause mold and mildew to grow in your locks. There are shampoos that are perfect for locks. If you have soft water, Dr. Bronners is great. But the soaps from dreadlockshampoo.com are the best.
All you need to do to keep locks from growing together is to rip them apart. There's no reason to put anything on the tips

Welcome. The lock peppa is a scam. You could save huge amounts of money and just get yourself some sea salt and mix it with water. Boom... You're own home made lock peppa. Then you can add whatever oils you want to it.
