Aloe or Jojoba are always the better option for moisture.
Never do anything to your roots. They will tighten up on their own. They need to be messy and loose for a while to promote healthy locks. And even when mature, they will always be a bit messy.
What lotion? That may leave some residue that you don't want in your locks. And palm rolling will either do nothing and need to be done every day,or it will create knots and that will completely destroy your locks. If you do it hard enough to see knots, STOP. You will see in a year how thin and weak your rots have gotten. If you do it gently, stop and do something worthwhile with your time

nor root rub both can cai=use dreads to break and bvalding
also u never mix baki g sosa and vinager use them seperate;y
nor should u use lemon juice..and for moisture jojoba oil or aloe is a better option
