Dreads look messy? Want them to be neater.

General Questions

The messier they are the better.Heck, I even like my girlfriends hair better when its all messy and curly when she first gets out of bed as opposed to when she straightens it.You'll grow to love em once they start getting REALLY messy. It's a big part of the journey. When you stop caring about how messy your hair is it reflects your personality. People always tell me how much my hair suits me and how my dreads are SUPPOSED to be unruly. I get compliments all the time.

General Talk

Im digging it so far. I get out in the sun a lot too, even when its cold so that may have something to do with it

Isn't it coolto watch the ends of your dreads lighten up as they get older? My natural hair color is brown and before I started my dreads I had chunks of it dyed blonde. I've noticed that some of the ends of the hair that wasn't dyed blonde is beginning to lighten up! It's pretty neat to watch. ^.^

Help! Save My Dreads

The second that I stoppe re-twist and ripping my tips I began to see much more progress as opposed to when I did it obsessively.

Thats terrible! I always make sure that I wash in the mornings so they have enough time to dry.

I also read that hair was made of horn and that the only thing that could truly harbor mold was aresidue or substance that was capable of hosting mold growth. (Such as wax, honey etc.)

No worries! I've never used wax! I was saying that I shouldnt have much to worry about because I havent used it! All of the pictures that I saw were of dreads that looked like they had been caked in the nasty stuff.

i did, they all looked so waxy! Which is another indicator as to why I should really have nothing to worry about. It's always good to be cautious and well informed though. :)

Help! Save My Dreads

So far I haven't had any problems with this because I always make sure that my dreads remain dry to the best of my ability. However, I was wondering, what does mold in dreadlocks resemble? If my dreads were to mold, what could I do to reverse it if at all possible?
