Missing out on the journey? Tempted to undo TnR...
Dreading Methods
Congratulations on your start! I alos have fine hair and started with tnr. I felt the same way for the first bit! Like i was cheating and that what I had done was inconsistant and wouldn't form right. The feeling of cheatingdissipated as my hair changed and I realized everyone has their own path and what works for them.
Within a month or two, almost all the babylocks had come nearlycompletelyunravelled. They started moving and settling, figuring out where they wanted to be on their own. Now, at 7 months they're coming along great. The front is still somewhat loose but the locking seems to be creeping forward from the back.
From what I understand everyone goes through phases oflooseningand tightening. I just sat back and waited and I'm still super pleased about whats happening. Do whatever feels right to you
Good Luck!

General Talk
I started with 42 a little over 2 months ago, I just counted and I'm up to 50. I really haven't been paying attention and i don't know what happened :P. Has any body else gained dreads?

I also had long wavy hair and used tnr. I'm at about 2 months and I have found that, while it keeps the sections neater, it slows the process. A lot of my locks have comeunraveled. The roots tend to stay matted and keep the sections but my hair has un-tnr'd itself and is now reforming on its own.
I feel that because my hair was naturally wavy and knotted easily, I'd be much farther along had I gone free form neglect. But really as long as you separate the sections that form, you'll be fine. I've looked at a ton of timelines as well and it seems like a year is the norm for mature locks. I have seen people with wavy hair (I think it tends to dread well) who have mature locks at 5-6 months using neglect.
Whatever you choose to do, have fun!

General Questions
with tea tree its like a cleansing/warming scrub isn't it? I use BS twice a day, with tea tree once, and I do the same thing, dump it into my palm, a few drops of water...its probably about a tablespoons worth of baking soda though

Kaarlie, how much bs do you use for it? I've just been sprinkling some in my palm then adding a couple drops of water from my fingertips (I do this in the shower), then rubbing it in. This morning I added a drop or 2 of tea tree oil and loved it.

General Questions
I've been using baking soda with like 2 or 3 drops of tea tree oil on my face for about a week now and I've seen and felt a huge difference! I have an oily t-zone and acne prone skin but the bs and tea tree have balanced it out and its an amazing exfoliant! babys butt soft. and all natural
