Hi. I have dreads and have faced many difficulties with the administration at my Christian school because of it. So I feel your pain. But yes they're right about the Nazarites & I'd also bring up John the Baptist. He was set apart in his appearance and it helped him to serve others. Because he was not focused on his appearance-he was able to serve others as well as God. The bible tells us to consider ourselves the "least of these". Christianity isn't about a group of people who claim to be the elite, much the opposite we are to be the quiet and gentle servants of society. However, be ready to explain your reasons to whoever asks, because the world has made dreads appear to be something they are not. Best of luck !
