Wow this sounds just like me. I hate the feeling of not being in control. I know for me it comes from my mom passing away at only 39 and having my father have encephalitis of the brain the very next year and forget who I was. I was only 23 at the time. Mainly why I became a nurse. Not trying to make this a sob story but it's always been hard for me to not be in control of things since then. This site is like my AA lol. Everytime I get the urge to "fix" my hair I come on here.

Hair That DreadheadHQ Is Proud Of
dread wax and dread kits recovery
Thanks Scotty. That's why I love this site. Such positive vibes. Everytime I feel like I should be doing something with my dreads, palm roll, put in loose hair etc, I come on here to help me relax and let it go. It's hard to not feel like I want to be "in control" with my dreads. I guess it's just part of the process

I'm prob even more stupid. I too bought the kit for over a hundred bucks and never even used it because I was still scared it wouldn't work. Soooo........instead I spent ANOTHER 400 hundred bucks to get them done at the salon, only to find this site a few weeks later. 500 dollars for nothing

What this journey means to me
Dreadlocks Journey Emotional Support
Very well put. I pretty much did the exact same as you. Always saying I don't care what others think but deep down inside yearning for others praise. I too started dreads for fashion, but now they are a mess and I almost never get compliments. Yet I'm finally feeling like im doing something just for me. Very liberating

9 weeks post dread perm (and a cat)
General Talk
Lol that's funny. Lot of people always thought I was Japanese. My dads from Laos n mom mostly Irish. It's weird but I always strike up a conversation with someone if they look half Asian like me. Not too many of us in Kansas. I guess it's like a brotherhood

9 weeks post dread perm (and a cat)
General Talk
They were lightly back combed and then fried, I thought this was the only way to get dreads with Asian texture hair. Found this site and now I'm doing nothing and just hoping for the best! As far as the cats it's funny cause we never planned to have any. We found a stray that was skin n bones and starving to death so we decided to keep her. Took her to the vet and found out she was pregnant lol. Went from no cats to 3!

9 weeks post dread perm (and a cat)
General Talk
Okay so here are my dreads 9 weeks post dread perm and 8 weeks post doing nothing. As you can seeth is getting pretty messy but the front you can tell where still formed. Its funny but I got about half an inch of locking hair under the permed part and it is prob stronger than they entire rest of dread. And also since everyone likes cats here is of mine Flash Houdini.

Can nursing students live on campus?
dreads jobs employment issues
I got my RN community college, working on BSN now. Of course you can stay on campus, however many schools do there nursing at a hospital that is far from campus. For example I'm going to KU for my BSN, classes are at the hospital in Kansas city which is an hour away from the main campus in Lawrence. Will just depend on where you are at
