my hair thus far.

Member Journals and Timelines

so i posted an intro not to long ago. the picture that i have on my profile is right after a "retwisting" and soaring eagle gave me some suggestions and tips. so im taking his advice and im no longer retwisting my hair because i dont want to end up with bold spots. i have come to notice that most the "updates" are after peoples hair has finally locked and lookgorgeous and "neat" all together and in tacked. lol. well i started my locks 8-7-12 and with a month and some change i wanted to post a realistic update and pictures of what my hair looks like. from what im told this is normal and im not worried at all at this point (unless i should be, lol) so since there arent too many pictures from after the fact here are some. also i started washing my hair 3 times a week as i live a very active life (gym eveyday and i work out in a parking lot 6-7 hours a day)vs once a week.

Your kidding right? Why can't you use generic shampoo? I asked the lady for a non residue tee tree shampoo and that's what she gave me.

I need some help. So today at the gym as I'm working out hard my head started to itch pretty bad. So I scratched my head and I had some dandruff. I usually wash my hair 2 times a week with tea tree oil shampoo generic. I was going to try that baking soda home thing I saw on this site but I can't find a lot of stuff. It was hard enough to find the baking soda and tea tree oil. I couldn't find the lavender oil and rosemary oil. Can I just make it with Nice! baking soda (powder) and tea tree oil?

ok i will do...and instead of towel drying how do you suggest i dry? blow dry or just leave it be? also i was reading about how often i should wash... i go to the gym everyday and i work out in the sun 6 hours a day so being as im that active from what i gather i would wash my hair up to 3 times a week...sound about right?

yeah i saw that video before i started posting but there isnt really much info that i have seen for the stages of "begining" before they fully lock up...example: the picture in my profile was right after my homegirl retwisted my hair after a good wash. she washed it really well and after drying (i pretty much had my old fro) it was still sectioned off to a point. so your saying that after i washed it she shouldnt have retwisted it and just left it as a fro? and yes she used a product call lock and twist...maybe a handfull for my whole head (VERY lighty)
