6 month journey (lots o' photos)

Introduce Yourself

Well, it's been about 6 months since I started my neglect journey, and here are the results, I'm a bit worried about the sectioning on the sides, I have a lot of skinnies, bit I guess it's all good^^ I went all natural for 4 months, and my hair had sectioned itself and dreaded really good, but some of the of hair didn't seem to want to start dreading so I helped out a bit by doing some light twist n' rip and that really got things going. I have en even mix off skinny ones, medium sized ones, fat ones and one super fat.

Would be fun too hear what people think!

Dreadlock update - Week 3 (I think)

Dreadlock Picture Gallery

Hello again! It's now been 3 weeks since I started my natural dread journey. Or was it 2 weeks? Hm, I haven't been keeping track of time, really. Anyway, everything is going quite well. I wash my hair with saltwater about every other day, sometimes I go for 2 days before washing and the saltwater is really helping out.

So this is what things look like right now:

Question about natural dreads.

Dreading Methods

I'm now 3 days into my dread journey. I've lost one of my twist n' rip dreads but I'm not worried, I keep reminding myself that my hair will go through alot of changes and dreads will get born and die, but sooner or later I will get some nice long lasting ones. Now, I have a question about this: Do I have to do anything at all except keeping the dreads from growing into each other?

Hello everybody!

Introduce Yourself

Torkom: Thank you =)

Amy Lee: Cheers!

Soaring Eagle: Hm, you might be right, maybe it's for the best to let them do their own thing all together, but it's hard to keep my hands away XD But I'll do my best =)

Hello everybody!

Introduce Yourself

Hello everyone. I'm a 24 year old male living in Sweden. I've been floating on this site for a while and it seems like a really nice place, so I figured I'd sign up and join in on the knotting action =)

I got my first dreads about 2 years ago by a "pro" who charged 200$ for 'em, and they turned out very badly. So I had them for 4 months and decided I couldn't go on so I had them cut, it was quite sad since I loved having dreads. I decided to get dreads again yesterday and this time I'm making them myself. I decided to go with the natural method and simply stop combing, along with the twist and rip method. I started yesterday by having a salt-water shower and it helped alot, it got really tangled up when it dried. And today it was even better. I had 2 really tangled sections that I began working on and now I have a good growing ground for dreads. And I'll be helping them get born as soon as they show themselves =)

I attached a photo of me with my caveman hair and my two dreads in the making.

Apart from dreads I like manga, anime, video games, playing the ocarina and painting.

I hope I'll be able to make some new friends here. =)
