From what I've seen on here, I think fine curly hair dreads the fastest after african type hair. But that's just my humble opinion.

Amazing timeline! keep strong!

Am i the only one who thinks that FINE curly hair progresses faster than THICK curly hair?

They have taken on quite a lovely shape. I adore the little ringletts of new/loose hair!

Thank you all so much for the kind words. I'm excited about the very fast progress as well. The front has a ways to go, but not bad. I do finally feel that I actually have dreads. Young ones, yes, but dreads none the less. And the ones in the very back and underneath are all mature.

Whoooo!!!

Keep it up everyone!

That just means progress. Yeah, I can't wait for them to get long, but shrinking is just part of the process.

I love it!!! I want length, like anyone else, but that will come with time. I've lost over half my length, but I have very fine, fluffy, curly hair and I feel like that contributed to lots of shrinkage.

For now, I'm just excited about the progess!

Baba, I have very oily hair naturally. I used to use the ACV rinse but it made my hair stringy. I played around with it a bit and discovered for my hair just baking soda works best, for the time being, anyway.

SE, a few of the ones underneath are close to mature if not mature already. The front, which you can sort of see on the left of the picture, is still mostly curls but it's coming along more each day. My hair was longer than in the before picture by a few inches and now it's almost all up to my shoulders.

I can't believe how fast it dreaded! And the best advice I followed from here is don't look in the mirror! Just wash and separate and the progress I've seen is unbelievable.
