lose hair and the use of wood ash to pull them in

Dreading Methods

velcro and those mugwort seed pod balls with the sticker thingies covering them

i leaned out a car door to grab somethin g while parked in a field of mugwort sat back up and had thousands of then fusing all my dreads into 1 huge mass it took 12 hours to pull them aopart and 48 to pick out all the lil prickers left behind

Dreading Methods

yea that hook backfires everytime there was 1 loctician that claimede she thought all dreads should have crochet done to them at least once to speed up the progress but the reality is it slows it down by 1/2 a year!

Dreading Methods

dont do nothing ignore em why would you want ashes in your dreads?

you want them clean

not intentionaly adding dirt

just ignore the few loose hairs

new guy with straight hair

General Talk

hair wont dread till 6 inches!

you can start them at 5 or wait till they dread themselves at 6

2 inch hair will never dread (unless you have african tectired hair but u said its straight so no way it will dread at 2 inches..well..in very rare cases it might but not typically)

stop combing

let it grow

let it dread as it grows

that simple

but dont even think of trying to force it to dread till u get another 3 inches growth

you tell 10 4 listen and learn

those 4 tell 10 4 more lisren and learn

eventualy those that didnt listen or learn have 1000 telling them

eventualy all learn

it was that way with wax

a couple years ago everyone thought wax was the way to go only a few wre saying otherwise

now its 90% say no wax and tho u still get a small number that dont listen and learn ots like 1 out of 50

wax use can be eradicated within a year or 2 i strongly believe

crochet will too but skillteacher on youtubes got kliteraly hundreds of thousands convinced its the way to go

but now theres more comments on his vids about dreads v=breaking from crochet so every bit of awareness u sprwad even if it seems nobody listens will make a difference someday

so keep it up

wow. that's unfortunate (the sewing machine incident). we initially started mine by twist and rip the first time around and had to constantly maintain them to keep them together-this time around i'm going natural and only a few months into it and i can see dreads forming on the daily by doing absolutely nothing. couldn't believe how easy it was and how much faster they're locking up on their own--i've spread the word to every one i know that are trying to start dreading-but sadly they all are still convinced they need to back comb and palm roll and use a felting needle...even with visible proof that mine are progressing much quicker than theirs. all we can do is keep spreading the word! natural is the way to go in all aspects of life!!

Aahhhhhh! I did some crazy stuff in my "punkish" phase in high school, but not to that extreme...Though I did use washable Elmer's glue to give myself liberty spikes for the day....also dyed my hair pink and black, and I used Sharpies to color in my roots. :P Haha

it works but creates more loose hairs and does extreme damage

just leave the loose hairs alone they will take care of themselves

by poking holes u are breaking hairs

broken hairs pop out becimoing loose hairs

so u poke more

its ezxtremely bad fir them
