new dread locking gel from dreadlockshampoo.com

its made for african dreads only and it hardens im not really convinced thats good fir african dreads tho many use it ive seen alotta buildup in a few

it is meantto be used for twisting only then they blow dry till it gets hard ..yuck and holds in twists

id use it as moisture only not hardenit

and im thinking aloes a better option tho i dont know eniugh about the mango lime stuff to saty fior sure

im weary of it but due to its popularupity andall im not going to make a uneducated guess

tho i havge seen the root stimulater they sell cause disasters in Caucasian dreads

so..u might be better off with a plant..alie plant i mean

how are u applying it?

i wouldnt expect miracles but help

like i said her hair may have started dreading in 4 days partialy due to her hairtype

ive only used it 3 tikes and found it helped some..kinda alot but not enough uses to really say how much (ill try tomoro after i wash again)

as far as buildup if u do se flakes u maybe using too mych and it will rinse right out leaving nothing behind

oh and i totaly know what u mean aboutthe shampoos! i use the g=bars

but i now have zero scalp issues that were under control mostkly with the bs but still canme back after a few days now everythings healthy and clean

when u appky the gel do u do like agently lil twist and wipe motion rootto tip?

That's weird because I never even rinsed my hands. I felt nothing,

Gilly's Mum said:

So I got the gel for Gill and I know what Butterfly means. I used it for the first time and on her fine hairs it did look a bit stiff and I was worried it'd stay crunchy, but it wasnt for long.

What I DID notice, however, was today I put her hair up and wrapped a dread around to hold them. When I did that and the dread was spread a bit, it deff looked white and flakey :-/

Maybe I used too much. I'll try using less but maybe it's just not for us.

I noticed some build up on my hands and when i rubbed them together, there was some residue on them that sort of pulled up like glue would. Has that happened to anyone else or am I just using waaaaay too much?

She send me a sample of face soap too and it's super awesome! I love it and feel like I got a lil treat for me since Gilly got the gel lol

You must used a lot to get to make it that stiff and flaky. It shouldn't be very stiff at all. If any stiffness it should just be the tiniest bit, but not really just about the hold. And a very light hold at that.

It absolutely will wash out very simply. Just a light rinse. You really only note need to dip a finger in it and wipe It on. Next time try using about a quarter as much.

The best way to use it, if you're going natural, is to just put a little bit near the roots and give a little twist on the way down as you wipe down

tyler i put a finfger in it got a dab on touched it to 2 spots semi nearrootd and middle then just ran bmy hand down smearing it end to end its easy

heather it is light if u use alot it ads just a tiny bit of stiffmness not to the dread but to the indif=vidual hairs that keeps em from flying away but still lets em move and knot its..kinda hard to explain i mean its not like waqter texture but when it dries i=on yoyr habds its like nothing was ever there but the hair texture and the way it behaves and looks does change so it kinda i guess penetrates

i was only avble to use it once cause my skins still too messed up fromthe pemphugus but even the 1 use did somethung gthe 3 beard sectioins i used it on are still getting knottied=r aeven after washings but loose

i think if i used it daily theyd be doing greart now but gotta heal lil more

when u dip a finger in its.somewhat viscouse not like vasaline or even most gels but definateky gekllike

but the amazing thing is no slippry stickiness minutes after wiping it on your hair

my 1st test i did a light coat..then a heavier one the heavy coat was most likely much more then needed and there was just a hint of ..almost stiffnessthat just kept them ti[ogether like a light hairspray would but not reallyItshard to describe

the scents wonderfukl

u dont smell it shortly adter u put it on anymore i mean it lingers maybe an hiur max but then when yiou wet your hair to wash ..there it is again

the scent comes back when wet

i wonder if it wouldf withsweattoo making u smell yummy when u get stinky..lol;
