How long does hairneed to be to start

Introduce Yourself

shake it out and air dry or blow dry in winter

sun drying is best try not to pat it down

the bicarb info is around here but it will weaken hair severely if used long term

its 1 part bicarb 10 parts water pour on soak 10 min then rinse

then very lil acv in same amount of water

pour on then rinse right away or fairly soon you don't have to soak long

less then 1/4 teaspoon since your hairs so short

if you don't condition a low residue low conditioning shampoo will be ok till you get a dread shampoo since its not likelky there wil be knots holding on till your at least past 3 inches

probly will be upgrading the server cpu soon

anything else

the new servers performing pretty well, but, the cpu and in particular the database queries are not performing up to par with the old server

the old server had 8 cores at 3.3 ghz this 1 has 6 at 1.6 ..

i found a cpu that's 24 cores at 2.0 that's just about 200 dollars on ebay..

unfortunately, its a bit early in the month to know for sure if i can afford 200 this month but its nice to know that i can get a much more powerful cpu for a reasonable price

near the end of the month (sooner if anyone wants to make donations..hint hint haha (don't worry i'll cover it if not)) i'll take a good look at what i can find thats 8 cores or more and 2.0 ghz or faster

we had impressive performance from the old server but cost me 3/4 of my monthly income so i had to build our own

the cpu unfortunately was the 1 thing i had to cut costs on  to afford it at the time

its been a couple months now (actually not even) and i am seeing that the cpu is a little more strained then i'd like (not at all critically) and the sites backend has a performance test that's showing less then  optimal performance ratings

theres a good number here who started from shaved heads

i should have asked what type hair you have..African hair types for example tend to lock up much shorter then say Asian types

like if you had a 1/2 inch to 1 inch afro that's enough to dread

well you can start at bald...it wont dread from bald (nothing to dread) but you can start .. it will dread when long enough

now typically that's 6 inches..but if you start from bald or 1 inch..theres a chance it might dread shorter ..not usually shorter then 4-5 inches  and if it does dread at 4-5 you might get a dread here and there (typically the side u sleep on) and no more for months till the rest is longer

i left a comment with more details on shampoos on your page but the most highly recommended is www.dreadlockshampoo.com they are the best of the best

how to start..  stop

stop combing stop conditioning stop towel drying stop running fingers through or wearing hats (especially fitted ones like baseball caps) stop using standard shampoos .. stop worrying if a hairs out of place..

basically stop doing everything you did to prevent it from dreading all your life

they will but potentially huge dreads

rip while wet its much easier and less painful

if they wont rip with water try putting olive oil only on the connected parts that wont rip let it soften it up then try to rip

if nothing will get them to separate don't use a knife but a razorblade or exacto blade or if needed those tiny lil scissors  you want  very precise control

get help with it

pull the dreads away from eachother putting tension on the connected hairs  now use surgical precision like your doing brain surgery slice carefully straight down but only like a millimeter or 2 like no more then 1/8th inch at a time then pull try to rip

repeat as needed try to keep the cutting to a bare minimum just to release enough to rip some more

once you have em all separtated out into reasonable sized sections ..separate after each wash..if needed

alternately (and perhaps better)

comb out the absolute worse areas ..if the sections are like 3 inches ..comb them out let them reform but this time keep them separated into no larger then 1 inch

any sections 1 inch or smaller just let them go and make sure they stay separated from neighbors
