Introduce Yourself

considering both length of hair and length of time that's reasonably considerable progress

Beads

Dread Accessories

no it speeds up the dreading, if they are put on very young and the dread thickens but not where the bead is, i suppose that could cause a weak spot, but beads really help  it dread..alot

Dread Maintenance

3_little_birds2316:

So to me I'm thinking several things.  I assume you are talking about the spots where you can see the line of your scalp?

It looks like it might be how you sleep.  That might be where you rest your head and it is pushing up along that dread section and pushing the dreads apart, showing more scalp.  It may also be causing those spots to dread up and get fuzzy making it look like less hair is there.

I would try to switch your sleep position and see if that helps reset that area of your head.  Your hair us short so I think that makes it look a little more noticeable.

now that i look at all of them i think you might be on to something

i thought it might need panterra to take a look at it (not that its that severe, just wasn't sure what was going on) i had only looked at 2 or 3 (in an email)

if that is the case .. a couple weeks sleeping differently should tell ya..

if you try sleeping  on your side 2 weeks and see no change then we'll bother panterra with it

Neglect Locs.

Dreading Methods

locks go back to every written text

now when you type locs or loctician they come up as typos

made up words made up industry that relies on shaming locks while promoting a version of locks

they build an industry around what hair does on its own and change the spelling to separate  it from the traditional locking..and very often its a way of shaming locks spelled properly.

i have no issue with dreadlocks i don't believe its associated with being dreadful .. its just 1  of many proper names that don't come up as typos

i don't mind people using locs really except when used in that shameful way which it most often is

but not by all

Neglect Locs.

Dreading Methods

locs are typically "salon locs" they remove the k to differentiate from dreadlocks locs is a way of (at least many feel) being ashamed of the association with dreadlocks so they make these manufactured, overmaintained locs that they even use a diferent name

Neglect Locs.

Dreading Methods

well, i wouldn't be conditioning at this stage

but at what point should you consider that you have locks (locs is a typo, locks  is spelled with a k) when someone on the street says "nice dreads"

you'll know when others around you know and let you know.
