Giving dreading another shot.
Dread Maintenance
see if a loose scarf will be good enough instead of a tight hat
see if a loose scarf will be good enough instead of a tight hat
the pink sea dsalt from the same sites amazing
air/drip/sun dry when i can blow when u must try to avoid towelks
its perfectly normal some parts take longer thats all
parts that dread fast
the side you sleep on
parts that dread slow
sides you dont sleep on
all around the hairline
around ears
the lil pointy parts in front and back (widows peak i think its called?)
but also you will always always always have undreaded parts between dreads that form baby dreads and then are replaced with more undreaded parts
when u separate u get loose hairs broken free they then dread u separate u create more
its never ending
on the back of my neck i have 5 new dreads forming this month!
thats after 23 years..there was alot of loose undreaded stuff there for many months that just suddenlt dreaded (probly just got long enough)
your constantly dreading dont worry bout whats not dreaded today in a month it may be dreaded with more undreaded areas to come
and your at 10 months not filly mature yet
haha yea sometimes the only way you can tell if theres wax in them is to remove it
baking soda wqont remove wax very very hot water and dawn dish soap will from what you say you shouldnt need wax b gone a scrub with the hottest water u can stand and dawn should be all u need..and once just as a precautionary measures not a bad idea
wax can surprise you it can survive 10 years of washing even boiling
was a blow dryer used to melt it in? if so id do wax removal
is there any sign of stiffness or hardness?
any wax use is a bad mistake and must be removed so thats yop priority
now that you stopped all the rubbing they will get better and better and be less damaged but u may find alot of hairs were pulled right out of the scalp with the rubbing and rolling so the roots maybe weakened
yea typing them up all the time can hinder progress
but also if its tight and left tied up extended periods can even cause thinning of the hair in the form of traction alopecia
but if its looser and/or let down often releasing the tension then your just slowing progresss
oh
also tied up your encouraging them to all grow together
if u kept them in a ponytail a year youd have 1 ponydread
same with a bun youd get a big ol balled up dread
the bars should keep it healthy but try this every so often as needed 1/2 a dropper full of jojoba in 10 cups water pour on wait several min then only 1/2 rinse just to spread it around not rinse out completely
if you use aloe make sire theres nothing added only pure aloe no other ingredients some aloe has alcohol or preservatives that can dry it out
try using only the bars not liquid for awhile
also maybe do an acv rinse today maybe the ph is off?
liquid or bar the liquids got sea salt in it if your using the liquid time to switch to the bar
was it ever bleached?
