Should i grow out my hair longer before using a dread kit? particularly the sides is what i'm worried about.. any opinions would be much appreciated

bad ass! there is a reggae festival tomorrow i'm going to and i will probably buy a kit there... Shadow do u think the dread kit is a bad idea if i don't use wax??? i have heard many good things but i'd like to see your take on it
