wellSE be exact it is about 5 and 8/10ths. but exteremly close to 6 inches. does that littlelength make that bitg a difference?

ohh also my hair is really thick. not just a lot of hair but also really thick coarse individual hairs.

ok so i know that everyone says dreads get worse before they get better and that your dreads will probably fall out a little. but my hair is honestly come out almost completley i have washed it only once using the bs wash without the essential oils yet since i have yet to pick them up. I also went swimming in lake michigan (i live like right on the coast so im hopefully going to be swimming a lotsince school got out so hopefully that doesnt hurt the dreads).but i really have almost no dreads anymore. i have a wool sweater on my pillow now and a tam coming in the mail. anything else i can do to save them? by the way i have somewhat dry hair if that makes sense kinda "jew fro" around 6 inches. anyway i just thought they would be doing a bit better... if i can find a camera i will take a picture.

thanks for the opinions. I am still not sure however which method I want to go with. I would love all natural but I am worried it will take a long time before i even have anything resembling a dread.
