natural dreads timeline dreading fast as can be

Member Journals and Timelines

hahaa Heather, that was why I strarted my dreads! I was so over my hair and I really had the urge to shave it all off. I'v always wanted dreads so I thought to myself, its now or never. If I didnt like them then I was going to shave it off. I'm glad I decided to go with dreads, they are just so awesome. Something new every morning when you look in the mirror. A new bump, a new loop, a new congo, lol, my hair is congoing like crazy, I have to seperate them every 2 days and they are only 6 weeks old! What a great journey ;O)

Dread Maintenance Occurance - Honest Usage on this Site

Dread Maintenance

It depends what your definition of what maintenance is I suppose. Everyone has their own idea about that. Maintenance to me is just keeping an eye on them, knowing when they want to be washed, drying them well and knowing when they require a bit of oil to be added to the soda or vinegar solution.I also sleep on a woolen jumper which could be called maintenance I suppose because the aim is to keep them looking their best..although it is being done with natural methods, it is still maintenance.

splitting at the roots

Dread Maintenance

I have just been through the same thing. Its so strange hey? I brushed the really big ones out and separated them into natural sections and twist and ripped them back in. If they were not as big as they were I would have left them. Post a pic please ;O)

woohoo...this is so cool. I have done a quick mod but will be fine tuning it over the next week or so. I will have it done by the end of April though.

Aussielockers Journey ^_^

Alternative Lifestyles and Subcultures

Oh and you dont need much room at all to grow your own herbs and veg. Have a look around your neighborhood there might be a community garden or something of the like...if there isn't, do a letter box drop asking people if they would be interested in starting one.

Aussielockers Journey ^_^

Alternative Lifestyles and Subcultures

You will find that you will crave things that your body needs. So if you have been thinking about a nice big juicy pear all day go and buy, swap, barter for some. I can guarantee there is something in that pear that your body is needing and its letting you know. Listen to your body, be mindful of what you eat and MOST importantly if you don't grow the fruit and veg yourself or if you don't know how they were grown or who grew them...WASH THEM WELL before eating. Organic is always always the best option, especially if you have grown it yourself or know the person who grew it and their methods for growing. I think red meat is deadly for you, that's just my opinion though. If you decide to eat white meat, chicken needs to be in meals where it is shredded/broken down like curries, soups etc. Fresh fish is the optimal choice though, preferably cought by yourself. Make sure you grow your own chickens or at least try and source free range, otherwise you will be eating a plate full of chemicals and cruelty. Have fun on your new journey and I wish you the best of luck!
