Washing- How long is to long?

Dread Maintenance

So pretty much...everyone is different...no one is the same. Wash your hair when you feel dirty. I know my daughter goes a day without washing and her head STINKS but I could go like 2 or 3 days before my dreads and be fine. I guess it would depend on you and what you want your head to smell like. Personally I wash my (baby) dreads every 2 or 3 days and get more knots and tightening after they're clean. But, as I said, everyone is different.

Baking soda wash not working?

Dreads Hair and Scalp Health

Aside from the water problem...my scalp had gotten pretty bad for awhile but the other day i used the hard spray setting on my shower and pressure washed my head with nice hot water and it feels sooo much nicer. After my hair dried everything seemed to have fallen out of my hair instead of sticking to my scalp. Just saying... :)

Name calling

Introduce Yourself

Besides my BEST FRIEND calling me a caveman everytime she sees me, I went down to see my brand new nephew just yesterday and my brother's mother in law asked me when the last time was I washed my hair was...I was like "Uhhhh, YESTERDAY!" And then MYYYY mom goes "Yeah with baking soda." And then they both "Ewwwed" me. Whatever though, they don't understand. I'm doing this for me, not them...and I know my hair is clean damnit! :)

Concerning the use of rubberbands.

Dread Maintenance

Use a bead instead...rubberbands aren't good for ANY hair.

yes i checked the f.a.q.'s lol

Introduce Yourself

You don't need a "concoction". It isn't a science experiment. Add some (store bought) sea salt to some hot water and spray your hair down.

so i basiclly started over question

Dread Maintenance

It just takes time...some people it takes a year or more some people it happens quick. Just let it be and you'll be amazed at what it'll do. First thing I saw with mine was piecey (is that a word?) chunks of hair. Your hair almost looks stringy but in bigger pieces.

New and need some advice!

Introduce Yourself

I bleached my hair twice waiting a week between each time and am kinda glad I dreaded my hair right after. I think it probably would have looked awful for months after if I hadn't. But since it's dreaded I don't see my split ends at all, just a big crazy mess :)
