Acceptance

General Talk

Totally, last year i had some non-natural dreads and my girlfriend would make similiar comments like homeless, doggish, etc. I cut mine and started over naturally and i think weve both enjoyed them this time around

What rlly matters is that YOU are happy. Explain to your husband how happyd this makes yoy, and how this is a true journey for your mind and soul. Maybe show him some pics of the beautiful dreads on this site :) my family gavw me the same looks, but because i showwd them how happy and free i was bwcausw of my locking, thwy grew to acxept them. My mom even makes all of my dread tams now :). Mature locks take time, and so will his acceptance. Just be patient, and your husband will embrce your beauty just as you do :). I hope this helped :-/

Should we use the oils after washing or mix it in with the baking soda you think?

I, too, spend a lot of time outdoors, and I worry about what may get caught up in my hair. What brand pet shampoo are you using as a rinse? I would like to keep some on hand (and I can use it for the pups, too!)

Thanks!

Right on soaring eagle! I spend a lot of time in the woods and I use an all natural shampoo as a rinse. It is for dogs, but it has citronella, rosemary, and tea tree oil in it. it is residue free and my dreads like it too!

YO everyone, ive been visitng this site for about 3 months now (about a month after i first got dreaded) to get tips for my dreads. They're coming along great i do have a question though, someone told me to use aloe instead of wax, does the aloe actually help hold locks cause ive been told its only good for conditioning your dreads, i havent used any aloe and did use wax for a couple or few weeks before i knew it was bad.
