Out of Baking Soda!!

Dreads Hair and Scalp Health

So I recently ran out of baking soda, and today I am going to wash my hair.I usually do the baking soda/acv wash that SE recommended on this site and add tea tree oil to the mix.. Is there anything (that is usually in every home) that I could replace for the baking soda just for today's hair wash?(Just a little info: My locks are a little over 2 months old, I don't or ever have used wax, my locks are about shoulder length, and we have hard water.)

Not sure if I introduced myself or not..I have been a member of this site for a few weeks or so. I have had my locks for 2 months (since the 14th) They were started with a little tNr then I recently started going natural, no palm rolling, products, or anything, just baking soda/ apple cider vinegar washes about every 3 days, and some occasional spraying with salt water. I am proud to say that they are starting to look like full blown dreads!

The best compliment on mine, I would say is probably from my friends "Your dreads are coming in nicely! Wicked!"The worst one was just today,some chick at school was whispering to her friend VERY loud. She looked at me and said "She needs to take those things out . They aren't even cute and they are gross." I thought to myself "Well EXCUSE ME HONEY, I am not growing dreadlocks for YOU."

I dreaded because I have always been fascinated by the hairstyle and had seen that almost everyone looks great with locks! One of my friends in class also had dreads that were started from braids and hers looked great! She was kind of my inspiration and I decided that my life needed a little change.Pretty much about it.Oh! And I love getting reactions from people, good and judgmental. When the judgmental comments roll in, it just makes me laugh because I know the people know little to nothing about dreadlocks and are probably just insecure about something in their life so they figure they have to pick on somebody. I just laugh and shrug it off
