Congos... Going bad

Help! Save My Dreads

You should take some pictures to help give us an idea of whats going on. I know that its a lot easier to separate dreads right after a washing and that olive oil can also help. Worse comes to worse you could take a razor to em to separate but understandable if thats against your belief

yeah most of em are pretty dense i had a couple of em wrapped to encourage congos but decided to take em off and let them congo on their own. Lovin the journey. Had a person tell me they look like shit and i needa cut them off and i just laughed and then warned him about his waxy crochet'd 3 inch long dreadies. In my opinion dreads dont happen overnight, they arent just some hairstyle, their a way of life and a spiritual/emotional journey. Lovin every minute of it

I started my journey 1/22/11 by cutting off the dreads i originally had which were natural sectioning and tnr and been destroyed by bleach and colors ect. I wanted to start my journey right with pure hair and no physical force so heres how its gone so far.

more pictures on my profile if your interested ; )

I'll update periodically when i feel there has been some major progress. Ive been waiting till there was visible progress rather than "here's some knots and messy stuff"

Going to start over.

Dreading Methods

So true so true... Think about how it makes you feel rather than how others judge you. They dont have to like it. I reccomend neglect, in my eyes its more meaningful and spiritual.

loose hair at scalp

Dread Maintenance

Best thing you can do is wait. Theres usually a good inch or so of non dreaded area near the scalp you dont need to worry about. Just sit down, and wait : )

General Talk

In the past year I have destroyed my hair. Numerous bleaching and dyes. I feeel that natty dreads are the only way to go. So tomorrow I'm cutting off all my damaged hair then I'm going to just leave it and let it grow into whatever they want. No soap, no tnr. Nothing just water and separate.
