k12 screwed us up so badly and stressed us all out to the point of me having to put my kids back into public school for a semester. all in a matter of 18 wks. its a horrible program. sorry to get off subject guys.

well said angel. i just showed the video to my 12 yr old daughter. she couldnt believe there were actually people that think his response was wrong in any way. i guess it all depends on the standards of discipline people are used to being held to. do you guys do k12?

If she grows and learns from the experience then in ten or fifteen years she'll look back and cringe in embarrassment and not in anger. We all do stupid stuff as teenagers and young adults. We're meant to push boundaries to figure out where they truly are. But part of growing up is learning to feel remorse for the hell we put our parents through so WE become better parents for it. If we never did some of the idiotic things we did when we were younger we'd be pretty crappy parents and never learn how to say no to our children until it was far, far too late.

honestly i think most of the negative attention its getting is because of the gun at the end. i was raised in the country in oklahoma where guns are a part of everyday life. anyone raised in a similar manner didnt think twice about him shooting up the computer. my dad would have done the exact same thing! would it have scarred me for life? no. would it have made enough of an impact for me to regain some respect for my father? absolutely. i love my dad for every bit of tough love parenting he ever instilled on me. tommy jordan was completely within boundaries by making this video. he has said he had no intention of it going viral like it has. he posted it as a response to HER bratty rant, and to the same audience. he was addressing the topics that she addressed (some of which she lied about) and he defended himself. he had every right to. this little girl learned a hard life lesson, and i guarantee she wont do it again.

firm believer in tea tree oil here. as for now i wash my sons hair with a tea tree shampoo and always add a few drops to my own bs wash. so far so good! 14 yrs. wow. *bows down*

I had lice once. I got them from a friend of mines little daughter that went to daycare. I got rid of them with tea tree oil on a cotton ball at full strength. I caught them very early so it was easy. It sucks if you wait cause I cant see how you would get all the dead bugs and dirt out. In nearly 14 years it had only happened to me once, and if you use the oil right away you wont have any problems. I think you could pre-treat with a strong teatree soak if you know you are going to be in a high risk area.

there wont be any horse pesticides touching my kid or myself any time soon ;) and i didnt say you couldnt kill them, but removing them is a different story.

Lice can be controlled very easily even in dreaded hair.

heres where I get yelled at.

When my hair was straight I got the ol hair crickets and couldnt shake em, nix and rid just didnt seem to be effective. While googling some new prescription treatment, I found out in Europe they treat kids with lice with ivermectrin.Ive worked with ivermectrin for years with horses its safe enough(in livestock) to double dose and $5 a tube enough treat 1 person half a dozen times.Ive used it and lice are gone in three days, totally gone after two treatments(about a week)Its an antiparasitic pesticide so you'll lose your organic label but it sure beats rubbin hot sauce on your head if that even works. Now any product can have adverse effects so becareful.and always research any drug before you give it to your kid, especially if some goof on the internet tells you to do it

they are any dreadies nightmare, and a bitch to get rid of. some cases are hard to kick in UNDREADED hair, add in the factor that you cant use the little comb to comb them out of dreads and its a whole different monster. you can kill them, but some of the dead bugs are bound to stay in your dreads forever. YUCK!! luckily, lice like really clean hair that they can move around easily in, so dreads arent their ideal choice. but it still happens. there are a few horror stories floating around here, one recently where a girl had to comb out her dreads because of a bad infestation.

my 8 yr old son is dead set on dreads. he hasnt let me touch his hair (cutting i mean) in months. its now at least 6 inches all over. im a little skeptical because i just put him back into public school for this semester and am scared to death he would bring home lice! ive got him talked into waiting to start them until summer time when his hair gets longer, but im not sure i can hold him off that long! he talks about them like he already has them, and its just the most natural thing in the world for him to have them. hes such an awesome kid :) i guess the cleanliness and the lice issue are my main concerns. we all know how much lice love kids hair and how dirty little boys can get...

Hi there! I used twist and rip method. Don't use wax whatever you do. For my ends, I put up with them being long & wispy for a month or so, then they dreaded more easily just continuing the T&R method.

Good luck and enjoy your journey! There is a great YT video by an absolutely BEAUTIFUL young lady (possibly from Denmark?) also with "Scandinavian hair" I think.

Cheers!
