dont want a messed up scalp, dont want to cut, thinking about combing out!

Help! Save My Dreads

hey,

so long story short when i was 16 my friend backcombed in some dreads, he sectioned all the hair off first with rubber bands and then dreadded them one by one. 2 years later for some stupid reason i cut them. always used kb shampoo bar and never had even a flake of druff!

10 months ago i decided i wanted them back. a friend of a friend put them in. didn't section them off one by one and instead grabbed random sections and began backcombing and stabbing them with a hook and then im pretty sure she threaded the end through the root and pulled it tight.

so it took them about 3 months to lay flat and i had some seriously bad dandruff, bleeding sores and lumps!

so right now the druff isn't as bad but it's still there and i still picking lumps of yellow skin off my head! some of the dreads are ok at the root but some just feel like they're stretching my scalp! im sure they're not supposed to be like that? i was debating cutting them off/combing them out and starting all over again.

obviously would like to comb out rather than shave as id have to grow my hair again to dread it. want to know what everyones oppinion is? id obviously like to keep them in because some are really tight and i'd be losing 10 months progress but at the same time i want my healthy scalp back!

i didn't go to a salon she was reccomended by me to a friend. you sure they need to be undone? seem's a bit drastic? surely they will work themselves out?

not really sure, she was backcombing them but also using this little hook and feeding the dread through the root?

ok so do i wash first?

so it's baking soda and essential oils in a 2 litre bottle mixed up then pour over my head?

then rise?

or go straight in with the acv? and then rinse after? how much do i dilute the acv by?

i don't pull them back, i will try this baking soda and acv wash and see how that goes.

hi,

had this problem for a while now, i used to have dreads that were sectioned off first and then backcombed in. had them for 2 years and never had any problems with dandruff. not even a flake!

then i cut (regret that now haha!)

10 months ago i had them put back in and the girl who did it sectioned as she went which im not sure i like because it kind of feels like some dreads have stretched my scalp. the dandruff started after a few weeks and was really bad, it did ease up a bit as they grew out but it's still not good

i tried a mix of oil with rosemary, teatree and peppermint but this didnt really do much and just left my roots really greasy. i stopped using KB shampoo bar (although on my previous set i never had any issues with it) and started using head and shoulders and a strong dandruff shampoo. still no joy. now i use Jason Natural Cosmetics Tea Tree Scalp Normalizing Shampoo or sometimes i use KB bar, both have the same or should i say lack of effect

i was once weekly but think i might try washing every other day? is there anything else i can try?

really want my healthy sccalp back but don't want to cut and lose 10 months progress!!
