New Natural Journey

General Questions

Hey all,

I am debating starting an all-natural dread journey. My hair is still pretty short (like not even 2 inches), so I know there is a long way to go. I used to have twist and rip dreads but decided to start over. I was hoping to get some pro tips from all you natty naturals out there. Btw I have thin straight hair. I was also considering not washing my hair for a while to see what that does (I would still rinse it when I shower). Thoughts?

Thanks,

taylor

debating starting over.

General Talk

at this point it seems that it would be almost impossible to comb them out..

but i woke up today, washed my dreads and felt really good about them and about myself in general.. i'm so wishy-washy. but i think when/if the time does come i'm going to cut them and go from square 0.

thank you for your input SE, much appreciated

General Talk

Hello dread fam. For the past month or so, I have been contemplating cutting off my current locks and starting over with the natural neglect journey. i promised myself i would keep these for a year, and that is 2 weeks from today. I really love the ones that I have now, but I always have the thought of actually growing dreads, instead of making them, in the back of my mind. A yogi from india said that one must grow the dreads within their heart before their head, and that has been stuck in my head also.

any advice, encouragement would be great

thanks

first completely natural dread baby

General Talk

hey i just felt like venting out some of my joy. i tnr'd dreads about 9 months ago. yikes, seems like i just did it. well anyway, about a week ago i was feeling around and i felt the tiniest little dread baby. i was so happy and proud of the little guy. it really made me want to go all natural, but hey, i still love all my others too. i just feel natural would be the best bet because you kind of miss out on a lot of the journey aspect.peace.

paganism in a christian society

my personal belief is something along these lines..

we all are put on this earth and are lost. i think that the goal of life is to find your way back to the truth/spirit/light/good/whatever. one person's path may differ from your own, but if they all seek the same inner peace and sense of wellness and togetherness and whatnot, everyone will end up in the same place. there would undoubtedly be some of us who do not find their way back and are lost to darkness and evil.

that is more or less my personal philosophy

pasty feeling hair

Dreads Hair and Scalp Health

hello family. I have been noticing that once I wash my hair with bs/acv that my roots, that is, the couple inches that have not dreaded, feel all pasty and gross, even after I have rinsed and rinsed and rinsed some more. This feeling persists after my shower until my hair is completely dry. I use bs with tea tree, rosemary, and lavander and then acv. Does this problem occur with anyone else, or am I doing something wrong?

much love,

taylor
