Having trouble getting shampoo to lather? Washing tip!

Dread Maintenance

good idea. I'm glad it works for you! I call them onion bags. To me they look like the bags that onions come in, just scrunched up!

Dread down, dread down

opps! At least it was just the one, and it will grow back! My advice is to seperate them when they're wet in the shower. :)

Why is the community here so against maintained locs?

Dreading Methods

holy shit. From what I have read here in this tread, everything I was doing to my hair from about 1 year old was wrong!! WTF? lol. So, maintaing dreads will cause breakages etc. Shit, I know when I was younger and I had straight hair I had lots of hair stuck in my brush. Damit, my I always knew mums know nothing!!! haha. can't stop laughing now.

stinky dreads are usally from them not drying completly when you wash them. No problems though, keep em clean and get those suckers dried! If you're worried try spraying on someyummy essential oils, or hang your head over a burning incence stick!

Mayb impatient but..

General Questions

personally i don't think wax ever comes out. I used wax when I started (over 5 yrs ago) for a couple of months. yes, the outside of the dreads are wax free but somehow I'm sure inside the dreads would still have bits of wax. However, hair grows hey, your new growth will have no wax on it. (der!) I always think dreads go though stages of changing. For months I don't see any change in them and then next time I look in the mirror they're completely different. Love that!

Wow not washig hair for 25 months?

Dread Maintenance

yeah sounds awful. yuck! I saw a guy on telly about 6 months ago that did the same thing (but with normal hair.) His hair actually ended up looking soft and shiney. Something to do with your natural oils on your scalp will keep it looking good. When we wash often we get rid of the natural oils. Still, I don't like the idea of it. No thanks!
