an observation

Dreading Methods

I never watched it happen, but I assumed that it did. That is why I flip my head over in the shower and let the water run over it from every direction I can, sounds kinda silly, but i do it. I also barely have to do any seperating as of late. :)

DREAMS?!

Life Issues Facing Dreads

Haha, I felt this fit here, I had a good friend/co-worker tell me she had a dream with a big tree (maybe maple?) and a tall dready man talking to her. She couldn't remember exactly what he was saying, but she remembered him telling her to have a festival or something like that and that he didn't smoke pot. She has only even attended one festival, with me,a couple years ago and neither of us smoke pot, I just thought that was a little funny and had to share. My journey is invading her dreams?

DREAMS?!

Life Issues Facing Dreads

I had a dream once that I brushed them all out roughly, didn't take any care when I did it and lost quite a bit of hair. I looked in the mirror and was sooo dissapointed in myself for doing it. Then I woke up and had to check and make sure I didn't really do it. :)

Preventing blunt ends

Dread Maintenance

That sounds like a good idea. Maybe also keeping the verytips trimmed so theydon't split or get damagedmight help them from wanting to knot with the rest of the hair too? Just a thought.

Im begining to hate my hair

Dread Maintenance

Just a suggestion on the pics, are you comfortable just posting pics of the back, close up so all we can see is hair? If not, that is fine because that is your choice. :)

I'm not that far into my journey, but there have already been days where I've wondered what the hell is going on on top of my head?! Sure enough they change constantly and I am confident this hair will be beautifully dreaded before I know it, although it is a complete mess now. :P

Since yours haven'tfully maturedyet, and you've come so far already, it would be a shame to give up now, don't you want to see what's to come?

Keep your head up, I'm sure your patience will pay off!

JUDGE

Introduce Yourself

If it is left on too long it can dry the hair too much, I think it depends on your hair. I add a little to my wash now and let it sit while I do what I do in the shower then rinse, rather than spray it on and leave it. Some people say you can spray and leave a few hours, others overnight, you may have to go by how your hair feels. Hope this helps a little. :)

JUDGE

Introduce Yourself

Yes, people do judge, I feel the judgement I've been the recipient of has helped me stand firm in my beliefs and taught me it is ok to be confident in myself when others aren't. Not everyone agrees with my choices or my beliefs, and they don't have to as long as I do. Besides, if I weren't openly judged, I wouldn't have looked for support, and may not have found this site. Try to keep your head up high and stay strong, be proud of who you are, there is no other you!

EEG concerns

General Questions

Good point, I've also had MRIs and similar tests to those done where all piercing are said to have to be removed and they have done them with out removing some of mine...I know that is different but surely if they ask to shave and you express your concern they may be able to find a way around it. It never hurts to ask.
