Dreadlock Styles and Dread Styling
Ouch!!!! It is very painful to see. I get a bit naseated when I see people with their hair pulled really tight in a ponytail! Yeah, what could you say that she didn't already know deep down.

I had shaved my head in 96 because my hair was so damaged from dyeing it and all the other chemical treatments such as relaxers, curling irons, and blow dryers all from the 1980's.
For a while I wore an afro and as my hair grew I got tired of combing my fro because it just didn't seem as natural as I wanted to be. I then decided to do two-strand twist all over my head and I have left it alone and let them grow freeform style from there. I seperated them in the beginning of the journey but as the years went by I stopped.. Now it has been 14yrs since I started and still love my locks dearly!
My dreadlock journey is a journey I embarked upon in search of being more and of my natural self and being loving my hair for how it naturally wants to be instead of abusing it with a comb, brush, harsh chemicals, curling irons, blow dryers you name it. All of the commercial products I put aside in exchange I use fresh rosemary, peppermint and sage rinses. And once a week I do an bs rinse and an acv rinse.
You will find a wealth of information here to help you on your dready journey. And feel free to ask any questions you'd like. There are many helpful people here at your disposal. Soaring Eagle is a great man to ask all of your dready needs. Just have fun!!!
These are the same observations I have come to as well Soaring Eagle. I definitely think of salon locs when that spelling is used. So that is why I use the words locks,or dreadlocks to describe my hair.
Just buy some polymer clay and start playing with it. You can use bamboo skewers to make the desired shaped hole. Or you can form the clay around the size you want to make like a pencil, highlighter marker. Feel free to stop by my photo album to see a few of the ones I have made. I am also thinking about making a step by step photo instruction of how I make me beads and put it on my dread blog soon. It can be so much fun and cost less to make your own than to buy them. But I am in total support of buying from independent diy crafters. You are in a great place filled with a wealth of info and resources for having healthy long lasting dreadlocks!
You can carry a lot of energy in your hands and I don't know where their hands have been.
I apologize if my comment seems rude. I didn't see your comment at firsttalking about how often you cleanse your dreads. I just didn't see the reason why you are asking if not for advice or just mere curiosity.
I guess you arejust trying to get a discussion going and trying to get to know people here. So no hard feelings.:-]
