A Couple Questions

General Questions

If you want dreads grow dreads. Don't let other people change your mind. You can't please everyone....but you can please yourself :)

looking for a easy and painless way to dread.

Dreading Methods

twist and rip is hard to explain but real easy to do. take a strand of hair twist it around divide it into 2 sections, take a piece from each section and switch sides..kinda like braiding.pull the two pieces wide apart to push the knot towards the roots.continue doing this all the way down the strand of hair.twist separate into 2 pieces grab a bit from opposite side on and on.search the videos.....i saw one i think was called "my twist and rip method" it will show you better than i can describe it. Sorry i couldn't explain it better.

Is there any way to prevent loose hair from being all over my house and everywhere i lay my head?

Dreads Hair and Scalp Health

but again...hair is keratin....which is basically dead protein......dead......can't revive the dead. You can moisturize but you can't fix what is damaged.

Dreads Hair and Scalp Health

I am still a little confused. A headfull of loose hair is gonna shed at least 100 hairs a day.Dreads don't shed because it gets caught up in the dread. but if it is coming off in pieces/ breaking off....that is from damage. can't really fix damage. hair is dead protein ....emphasis here on dead. I suggest major conditioning if it is breaking off...can't heal it, but you can slow it down. and thank god you" failed "to crochet the loose ones....they may be the only healthy hair on your head.

I can't explain why...but us dreadies are very passionate. and we believe what we believe. This isn't a comepition. I am calling check on this between the 2 of you. This whole thread has mutated.

My dreads are too small

Dread Maintenance

it is funny...many people with fatter dreads wish they had skinny ones...many with skinny wish theirs were fatter..i think it is all "what is greener is over the other side of the fence". Dreads have kinda sucky stages for a while.....and it takes years for them to mature. That is why it is called a journey...sit back and enjoy it. Your dreads will look like your dreads and your dreads alone. That is what makes them beautiful and unique.

Wow...i think everyone should breathe .....it is ok....we all can share different opinions...that is the beautiful thing about being human. Oh and btw...there is evidence that even "cave men " used plant material to brush their teeth. Twigs were split on one end to form a brush of some sort.
