you're one lucky girl. it looks like you have the perfect hair for natural dreads.
Kirt's Castile... hmm, sounds interesting! I've use Dr. B's and while I like the soap, I still get the feeling that it's leaving something behind. Where can you buy Kirt's?
When I do use a bar soap I use Kirt's Castile. It seems to rinse clean and doesn't leave my hair like Dr. Bronners does... I can feel a difference, maybe it's just me. SE, you're right about being cutesy! lol! I love that word!
This is probably going to sound like a bad idea but have you considered headbands? Aloe gel would be of a great assistance, you can buy some at vitaminshoppe or a health store. Or Walmart if there is one in your area:
The question has already been answered, but I wanted to share a funny story on the topic of "flat, paddle-like" dreading...I had one of them on one of my back locks for a while and I had someone comment that it looked like a 'dag' (one of those flat mats that sheep get on their butts), only she added, that at least mine didn't have poop in it like sheep have...I replied, with a straight face, 'well actually, it does, poop really makes great dreads, and it's all-natural. I believe in natural locks.' The look of horror on her face was priceless and so worth making myself sound like a filthy poop-headed pig hahahah
