Dread Maintenance

funny because i actually went in there to find that shampoo. they didn't have it. nobody does in my area. i think i'm going to have to order it online. it sounds like it would be worth it though.

new soap like dr. bronners?

Dread Maintenance

i wish they had a travel size. i'm a little concerned i'll have the same problem with it like bronners because of our hard water. they're so tempting though because they smell so good.

so i was in the health food store today and they had a display of a new soap line by kiss my face. it's called peace soap. it says on the bottle "101 uses". anyone tried this on their dreads? they smell really good, too. i didn't buy it yet but i might in the future.

What do you wash with?

Introduce Yourself

acv is apple cider vinegar. you use it with water to rinse your hair with after you've done the baking soda wash. it restores the ph balance to your hair. personally it makes my hair super soft. i'm trying to stay far away from anything conditioning.

well, i've tried prell, dr. bronner's (bar and liquid), bs/acv and maylees all of which left waxy or grease residue in my hair. i've also tried lush shampoo bars but i hate all the little pieces of crap it leaves in my hair. right now i'm using fantasia ic 100% pure tea shampoo. works really good at cleaning my hair and scalp. i found it on amazon. i want to try desert essence lemon tea tree organic shampoo. it gets really good reviews online. i'm still in search of something that cleans well, rinses away and doesn't leave my hair soft. my hair is soft enough.

How would i know if something would leave residue in my hair?

Dread Maintenance

oooo....that sounds like a good one. i've yet to find something that really leaves my hair and scalp squeaky clean.

so would've i said:
I just got Kiss My Face Whenever Shampoo in the mail a couple days ago... I don't like the way baking soda/acv makes my scalp feel and it doesn't make me feel clean, and when I used a natural shampoo bar from Burt's Bees, it left residue. But this KMF liquid shampoo... is definitely better than anything I've ever used before having dreads. Highly recommend you check it out: http://kissmyfacewebstore.com/detail/KMF+1101103

Heather-I ordered a couple of the salt/earth bars as well as a few others.I would be happy to send you a chunk( I don't use it often now that my hair has begun to lock.I use a couple of her others.)This way you could try it out to see if it was for you.It is a bit pricey but worth it.Her Sacred Grounds is to die for!I'll friend you and you can give me your address-if you want.
