Wash, wash, wash the dandruff away(what works best for you?)

Dreads Hair and Scalp Health

I think I'll start using patchouli oil, if only for the smell :)But seriously, the miracle touch for me is rinsing for 3 to 4 minutes, with cold water.I don't know why, but it really works :)

What made you start your "Journey"?

Introduce Yourself

I've been working in summer camp for 3 years. It changed my life, and the vision I have of it. This summer, I decided to ask one of the couselors I admire the most (for his way with children and his knowledge of the woods) to dread my head. He used T&R, no wax and lots of patience. Alongside with that, he tought me stuff about plants and ... well, he tought me to relax. To me, my dreadies are a pillow, a comfort, sometimes an armor, but most of all, roots. Also, about a week and a half ago, my gorgeous boyfriend decided he wanted some too. He has long blond curly hair and it would always tangle up into one mono-dread after one week of not washing. He saw it as the 'natural' thing to do. He didn't like the perspective of having to separate sections if he went natural. So I did T&R on him, patiently, for the straight 5 hours it took. Yup, to my great admiration, he insisted on doing it all in one sitting. And well, now, he's proud of finally letting his beautiful mane down :)

BS/ACV question

Dread Maintenance

Dude, seriously, you just can't do anything stupid. It's baking soda, not napalm! But seriously, try increasing by a half tbs per cup each time you wash. You'll see what works best for you. :)I wish you luck, and many more good things!

Hair Shrinkage on young locks.

General Questions

My locks are made from T&R, and I maybe lost 2 to 3 inches, but no more. And at 4 months, they seem to be growing again :)A friend suggested that it might be because since I had T&R, I made a ritual of giving myself scalp massages. She says it promotes growth. I just like the way it feels at the end of the day. ... tough the best is in the shower, with nice smelling stuff :) Hmmm... lavander oil!...But I'm keeping my eyes peeled. Shrinkage might be just around the bend! (or twist. or loop. or kink ;))

phatties or skinny dreads?

Dreadlock Styles and Dread Styling

Your dreads are siiick! ...but in a healthy way ;)I really have medium sized dreads....though I do have a couple of thin ones around my face...Thing is, I didn't want huge fatties to start with (I'm only 4 months in, so tey'll eventually get fat. I think.) 'cause I was worried about my scull. Also, thin ones are out of question for me. I want big, strong, lion-like dreads. And also... I have the biggest fear that one of them will just pop off.. They're big and strong and I care for them, but having the sectionning a bit bigger gives me a bit more comfort...
