First timer.

Introduce Yourself

Janine is right, tams are awesome not just to look nice and keep your dreads out of your face, but they help in the locking process as well.My two favorite methods are neglect and twist n rip. They're the two least aggressive in my opinion. NEVER EVER use wax regardless of what other websites may have told you. Just enjoy what you're doing. Dreads are meant to be aesthetically pleasing. If you think your dreads are beautiful chances are that they really are beautiful. :) Happy knotting!Janine is right, tams are awesome as well are beads, peyote wraps, and hemp wraps.

Big Day!

General Talk

Well, it's finally happening.I woke up today going through my usual routine: Got up, used the bathroom, had a cigarette, ate something, grabbed my phone to check my messages....There was a voicemail on my cell phone today from my ex fiance's mother...."Laura is in labor, no need to rush she's in the early stages." So, I could be having a baby today.....Oh jeez I'm freaking out...

Congo Maintenance

Dread Maintenance

Now, up until now I thought that once a congo always a congo. I was very wrong. I did a wash tonight for the first time, I took the recipe from SE. 3 cups of water with 3 tablespoons of Baking Soda, after 10 minutes rinse. After that rinse 3 cups of water with 1 1/2 table spoons of vinegar followed by a rinse. After all of this I realized something, I had a rather large congo on the rear right side of my head. After washing and some time to dry I realized that the congo dread up with itself. I was amazed! I mean, I would have been just fine with a congo, matter of fact I was getting kind of attached to it, but I was absolutely astounded by the fact that the congo had just dreaded up. haha!Let me know if this happens to any of you....*One love bruddahs and sistahs.*

Is anyone into barefoot running or just being barefoot everywhere

General Talk

If I could, I would be barefoot all the time. I don't like the feeling of shoes, at all.
