Getting discouraged with progress. suggestions?
Dreading Methods
I switch off with Dr. Bronners and baking soda/acv. Is the acv necessary? I wonder if it is too conditioning..
Attached pictures are some of my knottier ones a few months ago.

Thanks all!
I do tie them up a lot, I really need it out of the way for work.
For a while I was sleeping on a wool sweater, but got to itchy. I'll go back to it and see if that helps.
thanks!

I'm about 6mo into this. Sectioned and very loosely backcombed to start. Wash twice a week or so with either Dr. Bronners or BS/ACV.
The dreads on the crown of my head and the nape of my neck are doing great! Super knotted and loopy. They look crazy and I love them. The rest of my hair, however, is so very straight. I can see where it is semi beginning to section again, but not much. It is the hair covering the majority of my head.
So, dreads on the top and underneath. Nothing in the middle. Is there anything I can do to get that part of my hair going?
Thanks all!
My hair is not nearly as controlled and tidy as the woman in the video... but I think I can make something work.
I am going to a very fancy wedding New Years Eve. I have read about using 100% Aloe, but am not exactly sure how to do it...?
When/how do I put it in?
And how soon do I wash it out?
I have natural dreads, about 5 months in. They are crazy and loopy on the top and bottom, but the hair in between is mainly straight. hmm. :-s
Would also love some insight as to how to "do" it for the wedding! It is a little past my shoulders currently.
Thanks!
My daughter has dreads.
She is three.
I didn't put them there, they put themselves there.
I was constantly conditioning and pulling her dreads out for about two years and I finally had the realization that I was forcing her to be someone/thing she is not. It wasn't a matter of picking a hair style for my kid, it picked her, she's a natural born dread.
I decided to dread along with her not her along with me, if that makes sense.
I let her hair be and it is SO BEAUTIFUL and she adores it, and so does everyone else.
The maintenance we have is minimal. She is natural.
I pick out lint (she wont wear a tam or wrap) separate and applying shea butter about once a week. Her hair gets washed whenever needed.
As far as peoples ignorance well we'll deal with it if and when it comes.
