5months!

Dreading Methods

Awesome with the progress, allI can say is keep on going for it. As for my "progress", well for some it might not be good news, but I cut all my hair back in April. Forgot to mention that.

5months!

Dreading Methods

nah it's cool, I find it funny, made me laugh a bit, but yea some people love my hair (moslty girls because of the curls/baby dreads) but others just think I look ridiculous w/ long hair, and they say I look 100x better w/ short hair. And about beads, I think they'll just slip off at this stage, so maybe in the future? once dreads are mature enough ( i don't know anything about using beads so that's my guess). but I'll let you know though, thanks

5months!

Dreading Methods

As of saturday of last week, it has been a year since i got my hair cut, PLUS that same day I hit my 5th month mark of my journey, here's a pic of the 1st day i got my hair cut, and the following pictures shows my 5th month going all natural, and also shows you how much my hair has grew over a 1 year period.

this may look like a congo, it's not, during school i fell asleep, and woke up to a friend who was trying to braid my hair, I was going to unravel it, but then promised her I wouldn't, so lets see if they join together or unravel over the upcoming months

BS/ACV wash is not working for me

Dread Maintenance

I do let my hair dry, before sleep, (I always wash at night, idk if that makes any difference), or it could be that my scalp is trying to produce more oils, then again I wash 2-3 times a week. BUT, when I did begin using the bs/acv wash I searched around for any oils I can include in the wash, and found this small bottle of apple cinnamon oil, so I droped a couple of drops in the acv w/ water mixter, I did that for a couple of weeks. Then closely looking at the bottle, it was a "concentrated fragrance oil", yea, my bad. so I stopped that couple of weeks ago. Other than that, haven't used any oils at all. And I have done what you've said before soaring eagle, use 1 tbsp of bs for each cup of water, same goes for acv. I switch from 3-6 cups of water, to find which one works best for me.

says in the ingredients it's "sodium bicarbonate 100%"

BS/ACV wash is not working for me

Dread Maintenance

I'm at 2 1/2 months right now, the 30th will be my 3rd month mark. I'm letting my hair do its own thang (no t&r,backcombing, wax, crochete), I only wash 2-3 times a week. And I've used the bs/acv wash for about a month but with no good results. The biggest incident happened today. Yesterday night I washed my hair with bs/acv, let it air dry completely, just like any other day. But after each wash, I still have an itchy scalp after the wash, and even the next day. Okay, then this morning, during 1st period at school, I felt something on the crown of my head, so I reach for it, and literally, it was like a volcano had erupted on my scalp, and some type of oil was oozing out. It was gross, and there was alot. Each time I would touch it then look at my fingers, there would be so much oil on my fingertips. I'm guessing it was oil, I really don't know what it was. Prior to this I've always had a nasty scalp since starting out with the bs/acv wash. Sometimes there's like a white muddy like substance on me scalp, other times I find scabs. I rinse w/ cold water, leave the bs soak in my hair for 10mins, rinse w/ water again, pour acv, leave for about 3-4mins, then rinse again w/ cold water. I know for sure that I rinse thoroughly between using the bs and acv, and after. Any advice?thanks.....if you read all of thisalso check out my pics, I kinda created a timeline

BS/ACV question

Dread Maintenance

thanks, have another question though:After I wash with the bs/acv, the following day I end up with dandruff and white residue in my hair. It's as if i never even washed my hair in the beginning. I've read that the bs should totally remove the dandruff and any other crap. I also read that you should experiment around by changing how much bs or acv and such. Here's my question, what do you guys think is the problem, I don't want to experiment cause I don't want to do anything stupid. Should I use more bs and less acv? or vise versa

BS/ACV question

Dread Maintenance

I'm a month in, going natural, and already seeing mucho progress. I wash twice a week with 5cups of water w/ 5 tblspn of bs aswell as 5 cups of water w/ 5 tblspn of acv to rinse out the bs, but my question is, should I use the acv twice in one week? I've read on here that acv acts like a conditioner or something in that way. Should I continue washing twice a week but avoiding acv on one day and just wash with bs?

2 weeks + 2 days, all natural

Dreading Methods

exactly what you said, haven't combed in 2 weeks, i wash my hair w/ an anti residue shampoo once every 3 days (but once i get my hands on some BS/ACV i'll wash w/ that), and patience. but sometimes because of curiosity i will mess with them, i have to stop
