i'm not sure if i'm doing a bad job with my dreads or not. i'm using the tnr method, but it's been tough because my hair is really thin and smooth. i just hope i'm not going to need to start all over again... what do y'all think?
(i know rubber bands are no good. i only wear them for a few hours)
i've been wanting dreads for years now, but haven't gotten to getting them done. Always thought the best way to go was to get them done at a salon, but decided i want to do it on my own if i can, but i have a few questions.
First, how easy is it to get lice with dreads? Is it easy to prevent? I have a 3 year old daughter and really don't want her to be exposed to lice because of my hair!
Is there another way to get rid of dreads besides shaving of my hair? i would not look good bald! haha. i like to change up my look and want to know this before i start my dread journey.
And last, i have very fine thin hair, would the twist and rip be the best method for me?
I make dread beads. Check me out at luvingyourlocks.etsy.com.
I haven't had any problems yet. I don't have to worry about school right now since my daughter isn't even 3 yet. I've crazy haircuts, crazy hair colors (pink, blue, fire engine red, ect), and now baby dreads. i haven't had anyone (doctors, other mothers) disrespect because of my hair styles. I find that the people i would least expect to compliment me are the ones that do give me compliments.
