Introduce Yourself

yeah looks like you've got a lot of hair. they would turn out great natural. my guess is way nicer than that dudes.

Discouraging Experience... What do I do now?

Introduce Yourself

you'll be fine. your progress looks good! i'm going to start beauty school soon and when i went to tour the school i had to redreaducate all of the stylists at the salon! they couldn't believe there was nothing in my hair and that i did nothing to maintain the roots. they really just don't know shit, so don't feel bad :)

and i personally would leave the loops and bumps alone, but that's personal preference.

Does separating take a step backwards?

Dread Maintenance

when mine were doing the splitting thing in the beginning i just totally undid the tnr i had in and remade them into two or three or whatever. if you were able to pull them apart, that's cool too. they sound like they're doing what they should be!

Does separating take a step backwards?

Dread Maintenance

i think you might be seperatingwhole dreadsinstead of just seperating at the base so they don't grow together. that's fine if your trying to increase the number of dreads you have, but typically you just kinda wrap your fingers around the base of a dread and then slowly work your way down the dread, gently breaking all the little hair webs around the dread along the way.or you can take the end of a couple dreads and pull them apart from each other and seperate that way, but i find from root to tip to be more effective.

almost brushed it all out :(

Dread Maintenance

i was just looking at your 4 months pictures the other day and thinking that your progress was on a roll now!!! if i were you i'd break out some rubber bands and put them around your sections. most of the time the bands break off in a couple weeks and leaves behing a nice little knot in the area where the band was... *prepares to get kicked for suggesting bands*

i did this to help my tiny bang dreads along and it worked quite well.

Beaver Tail Dreads

General Talk

i have a good one that's about an inch and a half wide and totally flat for about 6 inches, then it gets round, then splits in two at the ends. it's huge, it was a congo. i like it a lot, it reminds me of the strips of beef jerky that you can buy at the gas station! hahaha! i wish i could get a good picture of it...
