Thanks Se, no my tips are awesome little spirals for the most part. It's almost Spring here so I won't have to worry too much about the chill factor in a few weeks.

Dreading Methods

Thanks NW I think you're gorgeous too:DSE, I haven't noticed my hair smelling at all but would that be because it's still not matured as dreads? Should I just play it safe and squeeze as much out as possible then air dry only always? I have heard using a hairdryer isn't a great idea, and I couldn't be bothered, but I don't get any time to sit in the sun on a weekday.

Tony, I've started drying my hair by just squeezing sections out, then the same again but in the towel. Then I wrap it up in the towel on top of my head while I dry my bod (yeah it's a 2 towel system, I'm a big shot!) and brush teef etc. Once I'm ready to put clothes on it's usually dry enough to take out of the towel without dripping everywhere. I've gotten into the habit of only wetting them if I'm going to wash em, and only ever in the morning so I have all day for them to dry and am not going to sleep with wet hair.Good choice on going natural for your dreads, you should take pics for a timeline:)

Welcome Gemma:)Good idea to find new styles and this is the place for any knowledge dread related. I find the best style (IMO) is just shaken out and free but I know people like to mix it up and there are heaps of styles that look awesome.

This! A thousand times this!Were those things even dreads? I guess at least they did look quite waxy so he's being consistent.

Hi and welcome Adam:)Honestly, baking soda is amazing for washing when used with salt water in a spray bottle, your hair should lock up good and there's heaps of options to give a light pleasant aroma too. Stick around and share the journey!

I took my dread extensions out then I left him, and then I took my dreads out.

I understand you're quite young right? You have a lot of years ahead of you to live life, grow beautiful dreads, discover feelings as you mature (I'm sure you're very aware of your emotions now but time can do strange & amazing things) and find true happiness in the things you choose to do. If you feel this is the right thing for you at this point in your life then it must be. Good luck, I'm sure everyone here has positive vibes to offer and would love to see you stay in touch dreads or not.
