My experience with BS/ACV wash sensitivity

Dread Maintenance

i just recently started using the bs/acv, before i used dr. bronners. The first time i used it it burned my forehead and the inside of my stretched lobes. i changed my ratios to 1 1/2 cups bs to 2 quarts of water and it helped alot!

BS/ACV wash

Dread Maintenance

I was also using Dr. Bronners and i liked it but the BS wash did feel great! The ACV rinse is a conditioner and also restores your scalps Ph back to normal. But if your hair is naturally oily you should be ok without the ACV wash.

And Laura thats what i was thinking i would do is try a little less

BS/ACV wash

Dread Maintenance

Ok so I just did the bs wash and acv rinse. I have to say, I've been missing out! My scalp feels so refreshed and my dreads are nice and soft. When i poured the BS on i massaged my scalp and then pulled my hair back and continued my shower. I have stretched lobes and a few minutes in they were on fire! My forehead is also a little irritated but the rest of my face feels awesome. I just wanted to see if maybe this or something like this has happened to someone else. I used 1/2 cup BS to 1 quart of water, I tbsp ACV to 1 quart of water

2.5 weeks w/out washing

Dread Maintenance

I used to wash every 2-3 weeks and it was fine and didnt smell and the itchingprogressively went away but now i wash at least 2 times a week. Your dreads will feel so much better as will your scalp, and you'll notice a lot more progress.

What are your opinions towards a white male with dreads?

General Questions

i get alotta looks, i backcombed and have no maintenance and they are about 8 1/2 months old. I get a bunch of looks and comments. alot of good but more negative. You will be judged but if its what you want then nobody else's opinion matters. my hair was about mid back and thick and curly. after dreading and they tightened up quite a bit and they are shoulder length. its not a hairstyle its a lifestyledefinitively.

Washing

Dread Maintenance

Ok so I've been dreading for a little over 2 months. I backcombed. Within the past 2 months, I've only washed 3 times. Once at my one week mark, then two weeks after that. After the second time i waited quite some time. It was probably 3 to 4 weeks maybe. What I've been doing ig is just waiting until my scalp actually starts itching and it seems to progressively keep taking longer. I wanted to know if it would be better to get on a regular schedule or if this was ok if i didnt wait to long of course. So just let me hear everyones opinions and methods of washing. Thanks!(:

people in my school

Dreads in the Family

i know exactly what you are going through man. I'm 17 and a senior this year. My school is small,400 kids in my high school, in a little country town.if you don't drive a jacked up 4x4, werecamouflage, and hunt every chance you get, your not cool. So of course since middle school, i was different. When i went to school rockin my locs, i heard a lot of negative and rude remarks. A black girl told me i need to re-twist em and put beeswax in them because they looked like shit, and kept on ranting and raving while i just sat there after telling her im not black, i dont twist my hair, i didnt use wax to begin with and never will. She continued until the teacher made her go outside. Crazy man, im telling you. Even one of my teacher tells me almost every day that i need to re-do my dreads because they're to frizzy and bad looking. I'm glad i dont care what ppl think about me because ppl are rude.
