Newbie Question about rubberbands

Introduce Yourself

Welcome! glad you found our lil knotty family! Taking out the bands is great advice and since you've only just backcombed can't you split the sections into smaller ones pretty easily?? Remember you can always join dreads together later to make them bigger but it becomes harder and harder to split them apart as they mature. Good Luck!

Knotty Jonny Clean & baking soda/apple cider vinagar

Dread Maintenance

Just another lie facilitated by Mr. Clean to sell more unnecessary products to people who don't know better. I know you really like him knottymama but good lord is he full of it! Just another reason I will NOT support his company. Of course he'd say it doesn't do anything, you can't buy it from him! Baking soda is THE best cleaning product! It will clean just about anything no mater what his bogus experiments tell us. Just my 2 cents. Much Love & Respect

Okay Whales dude, I mean no disrespect here to anyone...but, talk about reading posts!!!!! Have you read the millions of posts Gannon here has posted giving the impression he knows it all or down right challenging the people who know better than him (or I, for that matter!) I agree with Natural Womyn when she said she doesn't know what this kid is thinking! Everyday, a new more ludicrous idea pops into his head like "Sham-Wow" but for dreads! It is getting old!

Wow. Did you guys even read his post? And even if he did disagree with things (which he doesn't), what gives you the right to point fingers, LAUGH at his face and say, I quote: "i think he thinks those dreadheadhq wax messes are dreads"? Immature, uncalled for, sorry guys, but... wtf

I'm really sorry but this. This leaves me very dissappointed, no matter what you guys say

wash every 4 days about ..gently
in bout 2 weeks your gonna see seperating into sections and the very beginings of tangling maybe even a lil dreading but thats a maybe week by week they will get more knotted and when they start to connect clumps with loose strands start to seperate

yea i laughed too, hes freaking out over 8 days,,,,, when it comes to dreads, 8 days is nothig, your in too big of a rush man, dreads will happen on their own but got to give it time and not just be waiting around the mirror for dreads to appear...... some times in life its a good thing to take the longer, scenic route, then the fast way, especially when it comes to dreads, even if i seen results in 6 days, but thats just me ..... and also whales he did edit it so i to read his first discussion little misleading it did sound like he was putting natural dreads down in a way......... so i think replies were appropriate

dude gannon...i have a really hard time understanding what you write..mayb cz eng aint my first language....bt really what is this fuss about?? I blve you have been on this forum for atleast 2 weeks now and you are fairly active...which means you do read around..dnt you?
First you got dreads..then for watever reason you combed it out..now you think neglect dreads are fat..then you say you have known 1 persn with dreads who u never met after he got it...then you say i havent seen any progress in EIGHT DAYS!!
I mean seriously, it really looks to me that you are not really in the mindset to have dreads..
this is my opinion..and i dont care if it "disappoints" any self righteous person...

@whale- he was responding to naturalwomyn cz gannon's actions and posts have confused few simple minds here..and if you understood and read his posts so clearly..you should have replied with some useful info for gannon..rather than trying to be class monitor of this forum..now i ask you the same question...instead of helping gannon..why did you come and point finger at others post and essentially contributed nothing?? cz that leaves me sooo disappointed...lol..

whoa that's weird I didn't put that link in my last post...weird.Anyway gannon I wasn't trying to chew you out your post was just really confusing. But it's not just this one, it seems like you are having a tough time accepting what people are telling you. Maybe not, just a feeling I've been getting. Regardless if your post had said what it says now I would have just said that's cool, but when I read it it sounded like you were calling us liars. Misunderstanding I guess. Good Luck with your dreads.

I DO believe natural is the best but if he's not into it then he should do whatever he wants with his hair,it's just kinda getting old when these kids come round with no knowledge and try to act like they know everything. Especially when it's some weird new rant everyday. I suppose kids gotta learn the hard way sometimes. No disrespect gannon but sometimes i don't know what the hell you're thinkin! ;o) Good Luck with whatever you choose to do with your own hair but just remember some of the info you've been given here. Many Blessings

WTF are you talking about????? I don't know how often you run into dreads but i do on a regular basis and i can tell you that natural locks can form small or large depending on how you separate them. It's NOT rocket science! But you don't have to believe anything. Go get em done at a salon and let us know how that works out for ya...or forget about them altogether because even the idea of dreadlocks seems to stress you out! Especially if your not willing to accept other peoples knowledge which on this topic does surpass your own.
