I toweled dried my hair for the 1st 3 months. I think it might have helped in the locking process with all the added movement my hair was receiving. The more I washed the faster my hair seemed to lock! Water is your friend! Now I either do a combo of squeeze dry with a towel and air dry when I need my hair to be dry in a hurry or I just air dry when it's not important.

I think one of my dreads is on a diet!

One of my thinner dreads seems to be getting thinner at the base and Im paranoid about the possibility of loosing it! What, if anything can I do to beef this puppy up?

is it normal for 1 month old backcombed dreads to not look like dreads?

Yes you hair will get worse before it gets better, patience young grass hopper.

Wax+loc=candle stick. Once the wax is gone you might be able to do some light circular root rubbing to help the newgrowth.

I've not gone longer then 4 days without washing my dreads and I've washed them as much as 6 times a week in the beginning, just do your best to make sure their dry before you wash them again or mold could form over time. (6 times a week is over washing I think, I did so because it was helping my hair loc up faster!)

Ha ha that sounds complicated. I didn't know the order of BS/acv was important:S I've only done it a few times and I think I did it the other way around:S

im not sure its nesacary but i saw a poolhead hair discussion on baking soda and acv and it warned against bs after chlorine but said acv was a good idea

however it didnt take into account that u do acv adfter bs it resets the ph

however

when u add 2 alkalines 1 acid

the 2 add to eachother top make it more alkaline so doing the chlorine then bs then acv you still might be on the alkaline to nutral side instead of slightly acidic like hair should be

Its' almost summer and the weather is getting hotter! I'm concerned about the effect of chlorine on my dreads, should I be?

I use Dove shampoo with a few drops of tea tree oil in it about 3 times a week. and I BS/ACV one a month.

Ok so I just did my 1st treatment of bs and acv rinses and as I suspected I wasn't going to see miraculous results. I will continue to use these rinses for the next 2 weeks in hopes to get them squeaky clean... I will hold off on the dr. b until its all washed out!!Also I have short dreads, about 7 inches long so I can't quite get the ones in the back the intense wash/rinse I want to... so if I can't get then the wash I want until they are longer will the residue be harder to remove in say 6 months from now?
