Wax removal soap READY and TESTING!!!

Dread Products

OMG guys I am so psyched, I did a test like raw sum's for the body splash. I had a jar of dreadwax someone donated to me - it's not KB or DHHQ but by "Elementz of Earth" - they sell on etsy/ebay and have their own knock-off line of products. I'll post a pic of the jar and the ingredients in a moment. Anyway it worked VERY similarly to raw sum's stuff, i put the blob of wax on a plate, added a squirt of shampoo and then rubbed it around and round for about 30 seconds. It broke down the wax into a liquid, which I then rinsed *clean* off the plate in the sink. This is *just* what I hoped it would do!!!My daughter and I will be making a video of it in a few moments to post on youtube and here... watch this space for the link. I also have a jar of DHHQ wax that someone kindly donated to test, I want to also try it with KB wax. and of course on test dreads. This is so great!!!Test bottles are $3 for a 2 oz bottle right now, prolly will have 4 oz bottles for $5 and full size 8 oz bottles for $10. We need more testers tho!!!! Here's the link to the shop: http://www.etsy.com/listing/54044872/all-natural-wax-removal-shampoo-for Jenn & Amy Lou

Yer I used knotty boy briefly and also bees wax for a small period of time, ive got the dreads kicking around somewhere if you want to dissect them
Shine, Amy Lou and I would be glad to take a few of your old waxy dreads to test our wax removal soap on.It's been testing out very good on people, several have used and said it made their dreads feel soft, fluffy and clean. Would still be fun to do a test with pics and such though, to post here! If you're interested pm me!Jenn

Decided to Google Johnny Clean

General Talk

Isnt that like the serial killers who think of killing someone as "freeing their soul" or some shit like that? Or the pedophiles who think they're just "loving the children"? :-PJonny Clean - the serial killer and rapist of dreads everywhere X-DJenn

Dreading Methods

People on the dhhq forum are *always* complaining that their "dreads" take way more work than their brushable hair ever did. Low maintenance my ass!!!Jenn

natural vs. do it yourself

Dreading Methods

I dont know how my hair would do going *Totally* natural - its SO straight and tangle free nornally - but I do wish I had tried t&r. out of all the times I've helped encourage dreads to start, I haven't used that method - for some reason I'm all thumbs when I try and can't get it to work. Are there any good video tutorials for this?Jenn

what shampoos can be used on dreads?

Dreads Hair and Scalp Health

Some like Dr Bronners, I loved the minty tingle of the 'Mint one but it always softened my dreads *too* much. Maylee's soaps are great! Knotty Boy's soap works ok but like DHHQ I boycott them. Amy Lou and I have a new dreadlock soap in our etsy shop too, we only have the basic shampoo with rosemary/mint/lavender/tea tree but may make other scents eventually - it smells fantastic!Jenn

Just sharing the happiness :) almond oil for crochet dreads recovery

Dreading Methods

I did a bs wash followed by acv after a couple days ago and it does seem to soften them up a lot. They get fluffier - I don't have wax in my dreads but I still notice a difference. Another thing that helped was the moisture/strengthening herbal soak i made (its on my etsy shop) it has herbs in it that soften and strengthen hair, since it's only a tea soak it doesn't leave buildup like conditioner or "dread butta" would lol. I use that every couple of weeks.Jenn
