Do you ever foam your dreads?

Dreads Hair and Scalp Health

i always assumed that is what you were supposed to do, because the vinegar reacts with the baking soda ensuring both are washed out 100% and the reaction gets your head clean. i've been doing it for myself and my girlfriend for about 2 months and we've not had any problems

annoying natural dreads

General Questions

why don't you just twist and rip? sounds more like someone wants to crochet and is trying to justify it as a need.

When can I wrap a dread?

Dread Maintenance

i'm not sure if salt water would be good on a daily basis though, that means your dreads are getting wet on a daily basis which can cause mold and bad smells, and i'm not sure if it's ok to leave the salt in there or not but it can be irritating to the scalp and be overly drying, which can lead to dandruff.honestly if you just let it be, you'll get past it or even appreciate the fuzz

Should Dandruff build up so quickly?

Dreads Hair and Scalp Health

i've always struggled with dandruff even with straight hair; dandruff shampoos only seemed to make it worse as did dhhq and dr. bronners peppermint liquid soap. today i sit flake free with not itch or irritation or embarassment after one wash.on saturday i made a strong bs/acv rinse, 3/4 cup bs in a gallon pitcher and a tbs of sea salt and poured it over my head making sure to get all parts of the scalp covered, chilled and smoked a bowl, 15-20 minutes i rinsed with acv, i did a gallon with about 3-4 tbs, sloppy measureing so im sorry it's not accurate, but again, poured over the head slowly to make sure i got it everywhere, chilled for another few minutes while i made one for the girlfriend too then got in the shower to wash it out.did it for me and my gf and we both liked it better than dr. bs, we're clean and flake free today, and it was much less trouble than tring to wash out the soap. i think i did the acv to strong for our dreads<6weeks and 2 weeks> but we're not complaining at all

General Talk

i don't know a lot about web design and html but i do know a bit on how to make GUI buttons for video games at least, i'm not sure if this site was built using dreamweaver but i think you can just make the buttons and insert them using dw pretty easy. it's not to difficult if you are familiar with flash and i know there are some great tutorial sites as well but since i got out of college i haven't had time to play with it or i would be happy to help get the button made for you, seems like my only free time is at work lol.in order to make an interactive button like that you would need to create the image in flash as a button, images and such can be made in photoshop and then imported to flash i believe, you would need to have a base image, hover image if you want it to appear differently when you mouse over it, and then a down/click image, when you create the button layers it will identify what the button looks like and you can attach a sound to play when the button is pressed.it's not to hard if you are familiar with flash, but getting it on the web and to play for everyone where ever it's clicked i have no idea. you would also want to consider, someone may just want to be a jerk and sit and click it constantly just to annoy everyone because they know they can.

T&R (Twist and Rip) How often should it be done???

Dreading Methods

this is what i was thinking of, it's from Lishd from get up dread up and in referance to rebackcombing but i think it would still remain true"backcombing established locks (ie after the first couple weeks) anywhere except the very tips just pulls hair from the parts of the dread that are already trying to knot on their own. there's nowhere to get the loose hair from except to create it. so you damage one part of the dread to "help" the roots"

Serious case of the Fuzzy Wuzzies!

Introduce Yourself

tams are your best friend when your hair is friztastic sticking up every where. i have a basket hat i got when i first ordered from knotty boy and i love it for when i need to look nice and presentable, i also where to sleep in and just about any other time i can get away with it. tams are also nice if you drive with windows down as the wind seems to make ever loose hair stand up, and it also keeps ashes out of your hair if you smoke.its also nice because you can buy one from one of the member stores and support forum members and the forum itself for cheaper than it would if you got one from one of the monsters.if you just want the friz to go down though, it's just time. im guilty of trying to dreadball or what ever loose hair and trying to stuff in in my roots or something but then i realized that i've been jaming my fingers through my roots making big holes like a dummy. just gotta let'em be though, they will come together
