The Fact Of The Matter.

Introduce Yourself

crocheting will definitely give you the most uniform dreads over-all.... I would try a couple TnR and a few back-combe and see if either of them works for you first though.

How I (easily) got rid of dread wax.

Saved Dreads Success Stories

that's why i always recommend dish soap first... Because a lot of people can find it in their home already (or borrow a tablespoon of it from the next door neighbor)

crochet dreads way too huge what should i do?

Help! Save My Dreads

I personally think it would be bad-ass to have dreads that fat and would leave them exactly how they are.

Dread Maintenance

as long as you rinse it all out really well it shouldn't make any difference.

neutrogena t-gel

Dread Maintenance

I know more then one dread head that uses it regularly with no ill-effects. I don't think using it when you need to will kill your dreads.

Dread Products

FATTER t&r dreads?

Dreading Methods

I back combed my fat dreads. TnR never stayed for me tho. Maybe you could do some gentle back-combing and then TnR it for fatter ones. It might make it hold a lot better.

if you just wash them with dish soap and soak them in hot water you probably won't lose much knotting. That's what I did to get wax out, but mine was more of a petroleum-based twisting gel then a real wax like Dhhq. Go gentle, see how it works, and if it's not enough try something a little more aggressive. None of my back-combed dreads fell out when I was getting the wax out, and when I combed a few out for my bangs I didn't find anything at left inside them.
