Thank you! Nope I let it sit for maybe 1min 30sec. The itching happens as soon as I pour it on. I'm going to try knottysleeves suggestion and see if that helps. Emily said:
i think they lood great so far! verry nice dreadies, theyll definately thicken eventually, especially with only 30. as for the itching maybe you left it in too long? just 2 minutes is all you need for the acv.

Thank you! No I have not. I will give that a try and see what it does. Thanks Knottysleeves said:
Looks like you're off to a good start. They'll definitely thicken up over time, but it'll be gradual.

Have you tried mixing the vinegar in with the baking soda, instead of using them separately? The foaming reaction might be irritating your scalp. If you mix them together beforehand and let the bubbles subside before using it, it's gentler but still cleans effectively.

Thanks SE. I have a question about the wash mix. So I have done about 1/4th to 1/3rd cup of baking soda to a large pitcher. I pour it on and my head is fine but then when I do the vinegar it makes my head very itchy until I rinse it off and let my head dry for a few minutes. Is it suppose to make my scalp very itchy. I've done a cap full, two cap fulls, and 1/4 cup to a large pitcher of water. Also I've been adding 10 drops of golden jojoba oil to it as well. soaringeagle said:

Yep my hair has never been thick. It's good they will thicken up. Thanks for the reply. Spider Feet said:
Wow, your hair is really fine and sparse. You'll get some shrinkage where they will fatten up...between 90 and 200 hairs fall out per day and will add to the thickness of your dreads. Humans like all other mammals have 2 shedding periods per year, you decided to tnr after that shedding period so it may be a contributing factor to that thin-ness. Other than that it could be an otherwise un-noticable hormonal issue(not necessarily a problem) where atm you just have less hair than you normally would.

Dread Maintenance

Hello everyone! Well it's been one week since I've done the rip and twist method. Lots of loose hairs showing up which doesn't bother me. But what I'm wanting to know is will they get any thicker. My last set was done by backcombing and I had more sections and they were thicker. I think I had around 50-60 dreads. This set however I have 30-35 dreads and they are pretty small. Here are some pics of them now.

Thank you so much. Glad it has inspired you on your journey. For me the 6 month to a year is when they really started to change. Wished I remembered to take pics at those times. Hope your journey goes as good as mine has. Which I know it will :)

Hey Cody, thanks for this great timeline! I have one-week old dreads and this timeline is a great inspiration for me. My hair is very thin (thinner than yours when you started) and it's great to see how your dreads thickened up and got more beautiful as the years passed.
